Lakewood Committee Meeting No Tax Relief as Budget is Introduced

Update: The ordnance for 4 way stop signs in New England village area did not pass as no one voted on it. Mayor said that residents were opposed to it. The township will work with PD for  safety speed bumps in the area.

The Lakewood township committee will hold a virtual meeting today at 5:30 pm and will introduce the $108 million budget for the coming year. Last year during covid they raised taxes but this time officials say there will be no increase to the municipal portion of the budget but no tax cuts either, The township is also receiving $27.3 million from the Covid relief rescue plan no word on how it will be spent or why taxes will not go down because of it.
