Weather: Windy with periods of rain and snow this morning turning to snow this afternoon. Some sleet may mix in. Temps in the mid 30s. Winds can gust up to 50 mph. Chance of precip 100%. 3 to 5 inches of snow expected.

-Zoning Board tonight approves a 4 story building on Route 88 and Monmouth Avenue which will contain 99 residential apartments (LNN)

-31 new covid cases in Lakewood totals 10470/261
-6:00 pm Snowing  in Lakewood
- Lakewood school district cancels classes for tomorrow
-5:00 pm - Change over to snow in Lakewood expected later tonight 11pm according to NWS
- JCP&L has restored power to Ocean County areas in Toms River and Manchester.
- Jackson and Toms River received up to 4 inches of snow as of late Monday morning, the weather service said. A majority of Ocean county saw heavy rain and sleet.

-12:00 pm: Murphy: We are about to enter the worst of this storm. It is going to be very bad for the next 12 hours. Conditions today may well be very dangerous. It's going to get worse before it gets better. As of 10:00 AM, NJ Troopers had: attended to 343 accidents

-11:00 am:  Over 2 inches fell since this morning currently hailing and winds picking up. Edison, NJ with 12 inches
- Ocean County expects to get 3,500 doses of Covid vaccine, up 17% from last week. Monmouth County expects to receive 3,000 doses, marking a 20% increase. 
-Roads are slushy but drivable as temps are in the mid 30's yeshivos will have early dismissal at 2 pm
-8:00 am Boys elementary: Many schools will be open with 10:00am start and early dismissal. Cheder open primary- 8th grade
-7:45 am: Snow coming down heavy in Lakewood
- All Lakewood Girls schools No school
- Mesivtas have regular schedule with no busing
-7:30am - No shachris at boys elementary schools decision will be made at 8:00 am
-6:30 am No LSTA busing today. Schools will set their own schedules no updates yet on snow numbers
- 4-5 inches fell in Lakewood as of last night
-Lakewood public schools are closed

      In general, why should schools close for snow more than any other business ? The kids play outside anyway, so don't tell me about some Great Sakanah here.

    2. Because there are many cars sliding all around town. And yes I have been outside. And what happened to aiva? The governor said we are in a state of emergency. Either we care about what he says or we don't.
