Israel At War Wednesday Sep 4

 Israel at war day 334

- A senior Biden administration official indicates that fewer living hostages will be released in the first phase of the deal as a result of Hamas’s execution of six captives last week.
“For each hostage, there’s a certain number of Palestinian prisoners that will come out, so you just have fewer hostages as part of the deal in phase one,” the official says in a briefing with reporters. “It’s tragic and awful, and it’s affecting all of us.” Roughly 30 hostages are slated to be released in the first phase from the following three categories: women, elderly and sick. Hamas has offered to release the bodies of hostages, while Israel has sought to secure the release of hostages from other categories to maximize the number of living captives freed in the first phase.

- Meta’s Oversight Board has ruled that posts in Facebook with the content ‘From the River to the Sea’ cannot automatically be classified as hate speech.

- Axios: Israel and the US are intensifying their discussions on Lebanon, "the primary Israeli demand is that any diplomatic deal with Lebanon will include the withdrawal of Hezbollah's elite Radwan force at least 10km from the border."

- Netanyahu: "Leaving the Philadelphi corridor will not promote a deal. Hams wants to return a small number of abductees - and leave the others behind."

- Eden Yerushalmi Z"L, one of the executed hostages, weighed a mere 36 kg (79lb) at the time of her death. This is a sign of brutal starvation and malnutrition.

- Hezbollah launched its largest attack on the North today since August 25, launching around 65 rockets and with 48 rocket sirens going off shortly after noon. There have also been direct hits in Kiryat Shmona, hits in other places, and fires caused by hits in fields. Some of the additional areas which were targeted included Malchia, Ramot Naftali, and Beit Hillel. No injuries reported.

-Britain's Daily Telegraph: The arms boycott is a shameful betrayal of a heroic ally. "To impose sanctions on the grounds of harming innocents a day after Hams murdered six innocents is satire at its best."

- Troops blew shofar this morning at thr Netzarim junction

- The IDF attacked last night; fighter jets struck a launcher belonging to the Hezbollah in the Zabkin region of southern Lebanon, from which launches were made toward Israel. In addition, the military buildings of the organization were attacked in the areas of al-Khyam and Aita al-Sha'ab in southern Lebanon.

- The United States is working on a proposal to secure the release of all the remaining 101 hostages in Gaza and to stop the fighting in that enclave, US National Security Communications Adviser John Kirby told reporters on Tuesday as skepticism was high that an agreement could be finalized.

- Israeli negotiators told mediators in recent days that they still support a complete withdrawal of the IDF from the Philadelphi Corridor in the second phase of a potential hostage deal, despite Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s assertion that Jerusalem must maintain a military presence there indefinitely, according to Hebrew media reports Tuesday.

- A senior member of Hams to the Lebanese al-Mayadeen channel: "The head of the Mossad informed the mediators that Israel will withdraw from the Philadelphi corridor in the second phase of the agreement, and this is not acceptable to the 'resistance.' Hams insists on withdrawing forces from the Philadelphi corridor in the first phase because there are no guarantees of reaching the second phase."
