 https://mishpacha.com/forward-march/
This year, on the fourth of Elul, Rav Avrohom Ausband gave his final, most powerful — albeit wordless — shmuess
Rav Avrohom Ausband lived by a credo inherited from his grandfather, the Telshe Rav, who promised a Nazi during the Holocaust that the whole world would yet recognize the Power of Hashem. With this as his guide, Rav Avrohom developed his own mantra: “Torah is a one-way street. You go forward, and you go forward, and you go forward.” more

Both candidates were mentioned during the Harris-Trump presidential debate, with Walz teasing Vance on social media, saying, "See you on October 1, JD."

- 23rd anniversary of the September 11 attacks, flags lowered in Lakewood. 750 New Jersey residents were killed on September 11, 2001. 20 lived in Ocean County, including two Lakewood residents, Ferdinand V. Morrone, 63 and  Harvey J. Gardner III, 35.

- Chevron Rosh Yeshiva Rav Dovid Cohen shlita will be giving a shiur today in BMG Beren hall at 12:45 pm on a Sugya in  Maseches Nedarim

- Elon Musk: While I don’t think the debate hosts were fair to Donald Trump, Kamala Harris exceeded most people’s expectations tonight. That said, when it comes to getting things done, not just saying nice-sounding words, I strongly believe that Trump will do a far better job. After all, if Kamala can do great things, why hasn’t she? Biden rarely shows up for work, so she’s basically in charge already. The question comes down to this: do you want current trends to continue for 4 more years or do you want change?

- Megyn Kelly goes on a rant calling out  the ABC hosts for working with Kamala Harris to sink Trump and steal the election."I'm ashamed of those moderators at ABC News. They did exactly what their bosses wanted them to do. The person who runs ABC News is a close personal friend of Kamala Harris that is responsible for Kamala Harris and her husband meeting. They're trying to steal this election. They're openly working to sink him.” This will backfire on them.

- Keren Olam HTorah raises over 10 million in Brazil

- Donald Trump calls for ABC News to get their license taken away after their abysmal debate moderation last night. Moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis are under fire for their continuous fact-checks of Trump without any for Harris. The moderators not only fact-checked Trump but they were also caught giving Harris "toss-ups" during the debate. Harris was able to spew lies, such as the "Fine People" hoax and the "Bl**dbath" hoax without any correction from the moderators. Coleen Rugg

- Tuition assistance: a bill introduced today in congress by  Representative Adrian Smith of Nebraska The Educational Choice for Children Act (ECCA) (H.R. 9462)  which will encourage taxpayers to invest in education and cover expenses facing public and private school children.

-Lakewood's Township Committee last year granted short and long-term tax abatements to 29 new commercial buildings around town. This resulted in a loss of over $6.88 million in tax revenue for this year alone. As a result of all these tax cuts, the Committee increased taxes for the rest of us nearly $8 million! (faanews)

  1. The traffic has become unbearable and continues to get worse, causing real issues for so many people. It's time to push for change in the way Lakewood Township operates. Right now, it's being run by a small group of longtime residents, many of whom live in the same area and rarely visit the places they're overdeveloping. We need a ward system, where every part of town has proper representation. If you try developing in the 14th Street area, it's treated differently, but we need a government structure where all areas are treated the same and represented fairly. Change is overdue.

    1. Generally you want our kind of system in a homogeneous population and a mayor system when there are disparate groups that need to be brought together, like in large cities. However, our system has failed. There is no boss.

I am on the cusp of securing our public finances, potentially bringing in another $80 million a year of state aid and getting the debt forgiven, yet there is no single individual to whom I can turn get get everyone on board. The buck stops nowhere, perhaps because the townships splits the executive powers of government between five individuals.

Same with the Vaad. Who is in control? Is it the rich man in NY who pays for the yeshiva? Is it Rabbi Weisberg? Is it Rabbi Balsam, or Mr. Inzelbuch? No.

For over a decade I have been winning for this town but I still can't decide who is the boss.

Each little boss has his own feifdom, but there is no overall chief executive who can be held accountable for the big picture.

      Lakewood always was hefker. AL

  2. The purpose of tax abatements are to bring business and jobs to town. Did any of these developments really have A choice? did they really need to be attracted to Lakewood? What a farce!

  3. Schnall and Agudah are jumping all over this school choice bill that they have nothing to do with it after their tuition relief farce flopped. Some chutzpah to pretend they are involved in something that Republicans are introducing.

Even worse, Schnall did not have to go to Trenton for this action alert., he could have stayed in Agudah and done the same advocacy.

    1. Will all those who pushed the free tuition hoax ask mechilla from the Klal for fooling and taking advantage of them????

    2. Don't forget it was Agudah that repeatedly attacked Donlad Trump publicly while he was president and afterwards
These now cowardly push for tuition relief that will only get passed if Trump wins
      They are nebach deranged

    3. Education is a power reserved to the states. Plain and simple. Congress is not going to take on the trillions of dollars that the state spend on education even if it found a constitutional way (spending, taxation, interstate commerce). Only someone without an understanding of federalism would have any faith in the federal government reducing its revenue when for 200 years, schooling has been the responsibility of the states. Really now.

  4. Basically, Harris showed that she was a stronger person than Trump, and that he would get easily flustered when meeting someone with greater backbone than him, who could focus on the facts.
So those who liked Trump because he knows how to 'say it like it is' and cut through the garbage, and make powerful people squirm, will all be switching their votes to Kamala now. No?

But he can complain about the fact checking, announcing how he lost the debate. Miserably. (Remember how we would be tired of winning. Well that gave us a well-deserved rest)

  6. I am bothereed especially during Elul with people implying that our leaders in our Ir Hatorah have nefarious intents, how many other cities in America are guided by politicians who are guided by a vaad overseen by Daas Torah, yes there are some minor inconvenices and a little annoyance of traffic, which by the way exists everywhere. But we live in an Ir Torah.

    1. "A little annoyance of traffic"
The gall to belittle something that takes a daily toll on people some chutzpah you have.
There's no vaad that was elected or appointed al pi dinei shulchan aruch, stop with your lies especially during Elul to minimize those who are suffering daily

    2. Who is the VAAD in the ihr hatorah? Nameless people? DO they represent us? The track record is that they dont.

  7. The Vaad cannot possibly be guided by 'Daas Torah' when as actions and constitution contradict halacha.

Many members have conflicts of interest, such as living in tax-exempt homes or conducting business with the township, which halachically disqualifies them from making decisions for the public.

They use the term 'Daas Torah' to enforce their control over the community.

    1. The VAAD has no power. Those complaining have no clue what's going on. The Roshei yeshiva stopped telling everyone to follow the VAAD. It's UENJ/Adirei Hatorah

  8. Lakewoods problem is there is no higher authority such as roshei yeshiva or rabbanim running the town it's the people that anointed themselves ruining this town.

  9. Today was the 23rd anniversary of the 9/11 tragedies that hit the world. Does anyone even remember what the shocking wake up call message was DIRECTLY FROM HASHEM relating to the 9/11 tragedies that were sent down as the planes hit the buildings.

Below is the complete SHOCKING MESSAGE DIRECTLY FROM HASHEM RELATING TO THE TRAGEDIES OF 9/11

Do you know that 9/11 is our sad day for over 2000 years? תשעה באב, 9 is תשעה Av is 11 אלול is 12 & תשרי is 1, how does that grab you? How does that shock you? What about the phone number 911? A number only used for emergencies and tragedies, that’s also תשעה באב. That’s America’s emergency number for a minimum of 50 to 100 years, why didn’t they pick 111? Wouldn’t that have been a better number? Are you going to tell me because a baby running around the house might play with the phone & press 111 by mistake? These 2 tragedies-above-were only hint’s to tisha b’av, but it wasn’t enough to bring klal yisroel to start doing teshuva. So what happened ON tisha b’av 2005, i.e. no more hints to tisha b’av? Gush Katif/the Gaza Disengagement, it was supposed to happen on tisha b’av but they waited until Motzei tisha b’av, they did not even wait till the next morning, which means it was still tisha b’av in Chutz La’aretz (diaspora). Now let me ask you something, are these 3 tragedies-relating to tisha b’av-coincidence or is it a straight message from Hashem that its time for klal yisroel to wake up & do תשובה? You think about it, this is not between people, this is between each person & Hashem.

May we all accept Hashems wake up call for serious Teshuva and Achdus together ASAP so Hashem can send Mashiach already bkarov
