Israel At War Thursday September 5

 Israel at war day 335

- Statement from Hersh זGoldberg's parents in response to the video released by Hamas: "We are in the midst of the seven day Jewish mourning period after burying our son Hersh, of blessed memory, on Monday.
Earlier tonight, Hamas released a new video of him, taken while he was being held hostage in the tunnels underneath Gaza. This must serve as an immediate wake-up call to the world to take action today to secure the release of the remaining 101 hostages before it is too late. No other family should go through what our family and the families of the other recently executed hostages have endured."

- Trump to the RJC Summit: "When I left office, America was safe, Israel was safe, the Jewish people were safe… I withdrew from the anti-Semitic United Nations Human Rights Council. I defunded the Palestinian Authority and choked off the money to Hamas…recognized Israel's eternal capital and opened the American embassy in Jeruslaem.”

- The current estimation in Israel is that the US might not even bother with a new offer for the negotiations. The US is reportedly mad at Bibi and frustrated with Hams. They don’t want to look like a “joke” by continuing down a path of pointless negotiations. They also don’t want to confront Bibi during an election year. (Ynet)

- Sinwar’s secret plan to ‘smuggle hostages to Iran’ "Papers captured by the IDF and information obtained under interrogation may indicate how the Hamas terror chief plans to escape his dire predicament." By snuggling to Egypt and on to Iran taking hostages with him.

- 1,307 rockets fired from Lebanon in August, more than any month since war started

- American families of hostages held in Gaza have urged US President Joe Biden to consider a deal with Hamas that does not include Israel, NBC News reported on Thursday morning. The Biden administration is seeking to return the four remaining American hostages believed to be alive: Edan Alexander, Sagui Dekel-Chen, Omer Neutra, and Keith Seigal, as well as the bodies still held by Hamas of Itay Chen, Gadi Haggai, and Judith Weinstein Haggai, all of which were confirmed dead. Critics say this deal will leave the rest of the hostages doomed.

- US Ambassador to Israel Jack Lew said today that Hamas is hardening their positions and asking for new things that were never discussed before…

- Netanyahu told fox news that a hostage deal is not about to be sealed. “There is not a deal in the making, unfortunately.” “It’s not close,” he says, blaming Hamas rejectionism and stressing that there are unresolved issues beyond the future of the Philadelphi Corridor. Netanyahu says his red lines “have become redder,” and that most of the public backs the cabinet decision to remain on the Gaza-Egypt border for the foreseeable future.
