- Changes in Lakewood public schools incoming 6th graders, who will no longer attend Lakewood Middle School until 7th grade and instead remain in elementary school through 6th Grade. Lakewood Middle School will now serve students in Grades 7-8, instead of the previous 6-8. That also means that Clifton Avenue Grade School and Oak Street School will now serve students in Grades 2-6, instead of 2-5, while Ella G. Clarke School will serve those in Grades 3-6, instead of 3-5.

DeleteInstead of flying to Poland, the best way to honor the Yartzeit of the Tosafos Yom Tov is by refraining from speaking during davening. I'm sure many of the participants are careful with this, but if you're feeling bad that you missed the party, this is an even better way to be a part of it.

Many of the people going are individuals who were mekabel not to speak during davening, and they were sponsored a trip. If that's what it takes to get them to be quiet, it is worth it.
DeleteAn even bigger zechus than not talking during daavening (besides the obvious one of actually studying his peirush) would be not talking illegally on a cellphone while driving; not making illegal left turns in front of signs that say no left turn; not driving down Hope Chapel starting in the center turning lane all the way from 14th St to South Lake illegally (I’ve see this move frequently, including yesterday - it’s fascinating to watch) ; v’choheinah rabbois.

Any time you are sitting in traffic sand an email to RColes@LakewoodNJ.gov and let him know how frustrated you are and how sitting in traffic is negatively affecting your quality of life. you will be able to express yourself and do your civic duty at the same time!!
Also, a waste of time. This is not Ray Coles' fault, this is the other committee members who are beholden to the developers in town.

DeleteHe sent a letter in 2008 to the NJDOT to divert a million dollar grant to Cedarbridge corporate park when there was nothing there instead of fixing infrastructure of local roads. He promotes himself on the poop with softball questions that are meaningless and keeps the committee meetings remote so no one can confront the committee.
It is time for change we need new people to run with a new direction and ownership of the problems instead of blaming others and busy with PR
Coles will not answer real questions. I know of several ask the mayor email that went unanswered by him.
