- The $3.4 Million that Lakewood township gave fron the municipal tax dollars to the BOE for non mandated services is more than the $3 Million tax increase that was approved by Ray Coles and the committee on Lakewood tax payers. The township is under no obligation to fund the BOE especially for nonandated services. The Boe has its own budget.
More upsetting the township gave away over $5 Million in tax abatements this year alone and the tax increase would not have been necessary.

  2. Absolutely disgusting the way BOE, the lawyer, some askanim, and poop are treating Reb Lang. Bad enough they refuse to join him, bad enough they deny the issues, that wasn't enough. They still need to be ingrates when some funding does come through. Not a even a tiny thank you. Horrible behavior.

  3. How about letting us know who received The tax abatements? It would be nice to know who is on the receiving end of our largesse.....

  4. How disgusting that the self declared askanim and Fakewood poop propaganda treat the selfless citizens of Lakewood with the highest degree of kafoy tov and take credit without a mention of those who put in blood and sweat.
It's incomprehensible to fathom that these are the people in charge of our children's education.
And the Lakewood Vaad is silent

    1. Don't vote for Shain, he's a spoiler vote, not the first time he's done something like this.

    2. Shain needs to stay in for now just in case one of the three drop out. The deadline to take a name off the ballot is August 31.

  6. The document was initiated by the State Auditor in the Office of Legislative Services (OLS) on its own for the purpose reporting on School Funding. It was not about Lakewood per se. They looked at many districts, if not all. Lakewood stood out for its financial problems and recommendations were included in the report. The report was supposed to be confidential. It was given to certain legislative leaders. Ostensibly, it was leaked by someone in the legislature. The OLS did not give it to Michael. A Lang

  8. I think Aron Lang is a צדיק ורע לו, but I disagree with the specific point he made here.

The report that came out is a purely financial one, and it's easy to see that Lakewood is being short-changed in terms of funding. The State Education Commissioner is an education person, and what they purport to be studying is not whether Lakewood is being short-changed in funding but rather whether Lakewood is providing an adequate education, which is a more complex matter.

These matters are related because R' Lang's lawsuit maintains that the scale of the funding shortage is such that it makes it impossible for Lakewood to provide an adequate education. He hopes to force the state to alleviate the funding shortage via this argument and I certainly hope he is successful. But that said, it goes beyond simply saying that Lakewood is being short-changed, which is a much simpler matter.

  9. Maybe someone would like to start a rayzeit campaign so that all that appreciate and support mr lang in his ongoing work can assist him at the very least financially

  10. 1. What exactly are we demanding of the BOE? I don't understand the background here, so a quick two sentence explanation about what the current BOE has been doing wrong and how the new candidates will fix it.
    2. Firing MI was not the solution, as we saw last time he was fired. He must be fired and other things put in place to prevent the problems he caused last time. What are those safeguards?
    3. Which of the candidates has pledged to help us through the eitzos of A. Lang, not the Va'ad, Mr. Kotler, Mr. Inzelbuch, or anyone else with a conflict of interest?

When someone can publish the answers in clear concise language, publicize it in town. Let people know that an alternative is possible.

  11. 1) The BOE opposes the litigation. They hold that the matter should not be solved in the courts. 2) This is not about Michael. 3) The three "Fixing the Formula" candidates support the litigation. BOE members tell the attorney what position to take and hel has to listen to his clients.

If there ever was a time for achdus, it is now.

    1. What’s the difference between “litigation” and “thru the courts”?

  12. BOE members are scared of inzelbuch and BOE superintendent. Problem can be solved both by court and litigation they aren't exclusive of each other.

Inzelbuch needs to be removed from his current positio. The board needs to create a special position of "attorney for special needs" for Inzelbuch, and another attorney should be hired overall to handle the rest of BOE legal.

You got to ask yourself what's being hidden from the public? why are they afraid of proper oversight?

    1. legislation not litigation

    2. Litigation means through the courts. Same thing. Once you get a court ruling the legislature will have to act because it will be a constitutional ruling, which is the supreme law of the state. As you can see from the legislative hearings in April and the recent OLS report, they are open to more funding. We already got the T & E ruling and now only have to connect that to the funding law, which is the easy part. The problem is that not only the State is trying to somehow reverse the T &E ruling by saying education improved, so is the BOE. It is totally not true, and the record is closed anyway.
