The letter from Boro Park was a forgery. The signers in Lakewood didn't back down, but they told everyone who asked that they never really meant to sign anything.
DeleteThe rabbonim were part of that plan. Hatzala ran the show. They convinced the rabbonim to asser porch minyanim even though nobody could explain how that was dangerous. Two days later the rabbonim chopped what fools they looked like and retracted.
