  1. Seriously, there was a Hava Amina not to join with Modern Orthodox? And you talk about mevazeh talimidei chachamim?? Do you maintain that there are no talmidei chachamim amongst the modern orthodox? You talk about Rav Drillman, whose father of course was a talmid of Rav Soloveitchik.

    1. His father, Rav Shlomo Drillman, was not a Talmid of Rav Yoshe Ber. He was a colleague.

    2. Reb Shaul Lieberman and his protege Prof' Halivni were not קטלא קניא באגמא. Yet Gedolei Yisroel paskened that we cannot join up with the Conservative movement. It is only because of that that we are so sure that they are not a Jewish movement.
I am not sayin MO is the same, just that the parameters are not 'Talmid Chacham'.

    3. There's more to being a TC than ability to give a lecture with profundity.

Name a modern orthodox that is a genuine TC
      nowadays
Don't try RHS or other RYs , behind their backs and on their blogs most m o deny they're entitled to be legitimate modern- correctly for the most part

    4. Cohen Y Aside for that being circular logic I would hope that you agree that people are not defined based on what is about them on blogs and behind their back. According to the people who run YU Torah they have more listeners in Lakewood than in Teaneck and the Five Towns combined even though most of their shiurim are from YU Roshey Yeshiva and Young Israel rabbis (the frum population of Lakewood is a lot bigger than the combined frum population of Teaneck and the Five Towns. That why YU Torah has more listeners in Lakewood-not because the Lakewood Oilum is dying to hear from YU Roshey Yeshiva)

    5. You expect our worthy public to disregard how those who the call the shots (it ain't the more sincere rabbi employees) self define, wilfully leave 'modern Orthodox' undefined as how conveniently eternally nebulous PC, and still somehow to brazenly demand that we show respectability for those who they momentarily annoint as
the rabbinic public face carte blanche ?

      And your second aspect bears
relevance for anything at all ?

    6. Rav Shlomo Drillman was in facr m Rebbi and ws in fact a talmid of rav soloveitchik. You can hear his hesped her in which he regers to rav soloveitchik as Mori Vrabi. https://www.yutorah.org/sidebar/lecture.cfm/725526/rabbi-solomon-drillman/memories-of-the-rav/

    7. Ridiciolous that you ask to name a Modern orthodox talmid chochom. As if a talmid chchom is someone only known to you!!!!!! Small minded.

    8. Name one both we and they would Grant respect for their Values and worldview. Go ahead

To move forward, these socio-religious sectional have largely become however anachronistic

The real divides should going forward be now
      1. For those whose Yahadus encompass a global bigger Outlook vs those who desire to remain small

      2. Mature vs immature
(This is more subtle than appears on the profound surface, as modox in general - closet ones here in town included - pride themselves inherently that their perspective being the more mature one, while they in reality turned to actually the attitudal perspective of an adolescent)
      3. Inspired vs Uninspired
      Community and individually

    9. As pointed out about you are using circular logic. If someone will find you a MO Talmid Chachom you will claim he isn’t MO but take a person like R’ Zvi Soblowsky. Being that he never says anything about politics or controversial contemporary issues no one is discussing him on blogs. He wrote one sefer on Hilchos Nidda and another one on Maseches Bechoros. Gives a daily shiur on the Yeshivish meschtas in YU. Is a rabbi of a MO shul in Bergenfield NJ. Also gives shiurim to baaley batim in Teaneck. He is a straight YU and Kerem B'Yavneh talmid. Is he not a good example of a MO talmid chochom?

    10. J.David Bleich likely fit-a decade and a half ago, the criteria. After he refused to his honorable credit to go along with promoting organ donation and brain death around 13-14 years ago that was it he no longer fit-the left centrist influencers turned on him and went around to character assassinate him
["Bleich'ing" was a term they coined a la "Bork'ing" for the late scotus nominee Justice Bork"]

  4. Mr. Cohen, assuming you are a TC, then I would name you! You are clearly modern orthodox. You can't be chateidi, because you apparently ignore your own rabbbonim who forbid you to be on the internet. How about Ramba
