  2. Why are schools asking for more money with these charity online campaigns after they all raised tuition on the parents!!

    1. What's wrong with asking for more money?

    2. Why not? you like money? So do they, just more than you!

    3. You are right, we should sinply raise tuitions to fully cover the building and the budget, and we won't need to run around fundraising. Collecting tuition is much easier.

    4. So that even people who don't send their children to that school and don't learn enough can also share is the zchus and mitzvah of Limud H'Torah

    5. 1:57 PM, you dont have to raise tuition for that. You can just dip into part of the tuition surplus that you think we dont know about, and magic! Mamesh a nes!
And you'll still have enough to cover all the grandkids chasunas and the home renovations.
You know this, and so does everyone else with a simple calculator.

    7. Anon 9:24,

That’s not easy when you’ve seen all the shtick oif Yenem’s cheshbon to make an extra buck (by using the school as a kardom lachpor bah) which many of us have become acutely aware of..

  3. The issue is that the schools are pressuring parents to raise funds by sending out the links

  4. Once upon a time mosdos made a dinner to fundraise but that’s a lot of hard work, today they just do an online campaign and want the parents to raise it.

    1. People are too busy to show up at dinners. They sign in, hang around for a few minutes and leave. Mosdos can't make money from dinners anymore.

    1. Yes, please pay for mine. I'm not comfortable, I'm barely surviving, why don't you try to walk in my shoes for day before complaining about a fundraising campaign?

    2. . If his kids were from the beginning, and his family were part of making The place of success that because of that you wanted to join. Then yes you should pay for his

  7. I walk in your shoes every day. I’m making what some consider a good income and my wife too but I can’t make it with the expenses of raising a large family bh. So yes I will complain about a fundraising campaign because I can’t afford to give for every neighbor friend or relative.

    3. You don't need to give to every relative, friend and neighbors campaign. Just like you don't need to give your kid every latest trend they ask for.

We've all completely lost perspective of which expenses are needs, and which expenses are wants.

  8. You clearly dont know what it means to really not have money!

  9. Why do you say he clearly doesn’t know what it means to not have money? Because you think he has more than you? First of all you don’t know, second if you’re in yeshiva or rebbi keep in mind he actually pays tuition, food, insurance, daycare etc and doesn’t get all the perks you get. When you add all that up he may be worse off than you.

  10. Re the genozym - wrong numbers... You said 540, but you didn't count in 24% commission, which it makes it close to 700k, same for the other items
