  1. I b"h have a large family. And the past few years I have this added pressure how to explain to my kids that I don't have extra 60 dollars to buy them doughnuts on top of all the regular expenses of cHanukkah.

    2. There’s no Mitzvah to eat doughnuts. And you can get doughnuts for $14.99 a.dozen in bagel nosh which is pretty reasonable.

  2. Its sad to see ppl making ends meet buying up these donuts. I personally picked up such a doughnut 3 years ago. And after looking at the receipt I noticed I paid 6.50 I asked them to return it. They actually handed me back the money

  5. Donuts on Chanuka are awesome!
Some people have $15 donuts, and others save $15 while they get to look down with self-righteous indignation on others who bought those donuts. What a well-spent $15!

    1. The problem with the 15.00 donuts is when a parent buys a teacher 4 donuts and thinks they gave a beautiful 60.00 gift to their Childs Teacher - Poor Teacher...

  6. Why do you say poor teachers? Not everyone could afford to give hundreds to all their teachers and rebbeim! Bh teachers and rebbeim have TU and aguda looking out for them (besides all the programs and various perks) it’s the middle class that’s really hurting.

    1. Poor teachers - that the parent wasted 60.00 on some silly donuts instead of some thing more useful? Daycare Morahs have no one looking out for them (various perks - care to elaborate?) what programs are you referring to? don't assume the husband is in kollel he maybe working hard and they maybe just over the eligibility for the Programs...

  7. Oh so you know which programs he was referring to. Besides all those programs rebbeim and yungeleit get other perks throughput the year such as gift cards to various stores, clothing at a steep discount, free or very cheap food before yt amongst others. If the mora’s husband is working and they’re not on programs they understand very well that the parents can’t afford to give them so much even though they greatly appreciate everything they do.
