The Lakewood Municipal Building Remains Closed to the Public

While everything in Lakewood is open, the municipal govt building remains closed since March and all meetings take place virtually online in order to protect the citizens of Lakewood Township and the municipal staff. Neighboring towns have opened their govt offices and conduct meetings in person. The township of Lakewood  set up a skip the trip page with a list of services for the public. For the public meetings such as Planning zoning and township the ability for public participation and commenting is limited with choppy internet streams.

Until now The only way for the public to comment is via email. The planning board has now added the option to join via audio and video capabilities. (see directions HERE)  also an option to join the live meetings using audio capabilities for verbal public comment, dial 1-408-418-9388. When asked for the meeting number, enter 798 023 744. a. PHONE ONLY once all chat requests are complete the
Board Chair will ask phone participants to state their name and address ONLY and then acknowledge
each one when it is their turn to speak.

  2. So how many new developments have been approved while we weren't looking or hearing? (As if it makes a difference when we're there in person...)

  5. Nothing will change when it opens. Let them keep it shutdown and they can sell the building to a Yeshiva. They will dave some $$ which they can spend on correcting some of the shortcuts they allow developers to get away with.
