-OCHD Health director DR.Daniel Regenye said the outbreak in Lakewood may be amplified by the number of large households in the township, particularly because household contacts are the "prime mode of transmission" of the coronavirus. A state Health Department study found that 19 households were responsible for roughly 100 cases in Lakewood. We have some households (in Lakewood) where we’re looking at maybe eight, nine or 10 people per household," he said. "So if you get a person who was infected and then goes home, you would see a larger spread within that household."(APP)
-"You’re always kind of concerned when you see an increase but when you dive into the detail with some of it, it’s not as concerning ..many of those contracting the virus are young. Regenye said those age 20-29 are testing positive for COVID-19 more than any other age group in the countyMost of those are a mild to moderate type of an illness where they have very light symptoms and they'll make a full recovery within a few days,"The lesser severity in illness is reflected in the region's hospital and ventilator data, he said.

question? with the many senior living facilities & complexes in lakewood what percent of lakewood is elderly as compared to other neighborhoods?
ReplyDeleteNearby townships ie; Manchester are almost 100% senior developments whereas Lakewood senior population is like 15-20%. The last census was 10 years ago, alot has changed since.
DeleteMany/most girls’ high schools were scheduled to close today anyway.
ReplyDeleteWhen schools close I will snap.
ReplyDeleteCheck yourself into the mental hospital now as a preventative measure. Thank you. Unfortunately the schools WILL BE CLOSING!
DeleteLAKEWOOD needs to be hermetically sealed! No one should be able to go in or out until after Sukkos! Mayor Ray Coles has the authority to do something to protect us. If he does nothing, we MUST VOTE HIM OUT! He is just like Hidin' Biden if he won't act NOW to stop the spread!
ReplyDeleteLOL. I can just see the many Lakewooders who would threaten to vote him out if he did just that! You can never please everyone all the time.
Deletewe all know shulls have been open since shavuas why did it take 3 months for houses of worship to start spreading the virus
Deleteasking for a friend
LOL? We can die laughing.
Delete"These are all "High-Risk" people."
ReplyDeleteNOT TRUE. There are young, perfectly healthy, with no pre-existing conditions Lakewood residents in ICU
no there aren't
DeleteYoung people are now 'high risk' apparently. Close down all schools until after Y'T!
DeleteYes there are.
DeleteThe biggest issue is that people don't wear masks in stores.
ReplyDeleteAs if people are wearing them shul......??
DeleteBottom line is we'll all be in shul mostly without mask on shabbos, yom kippur and sukkos and we'll all be dancing and singing INDOORS on simchas torah
So stop hocking and masks shmasks and stop telling everyone what to do
If you are scared of catching something THEN STAY HOME. AND LEAVE US ALONE
make sure to say ask mechila on yom kippur for all those that you hurt.. with your words and your actions.
Deleteif or when shuls are closed we will all remembers whose fault it is.
Maybe YOU aught to stay home. Rinse out your mouth while you're there.
DeleteYou have bigger issues than that.
Deletestrong censure for those who make leitzanus about serious matters.

We have a team of very selfless rabonim who care about the tzibur more than they do about themselves. They will decide what kind of measures to take based on medical advice and a lot of their own seichel. It definitely won't come from a bunch of commentors on a blog.
ReplyDeleteThe shame is that this vaad wasn't yet organized during March-April when various well meaning askonim took the town for a ride. This would have saved much agmas nefesh, bitul torah and tefilla. I strongly believe that they won't let it happen again.
Just spoke to a nurse in a large NY hospital and she said the hospital has not seen an uptick recently.
ReplyDeleteOnly 1 hospital, doing research on other hospitals as well.
There is currently a nationwide uptick. Did they also attend jewish weddings and shul on Rosh Hashana? Stop blaming the jews.
ReplyDeleteAnd how can Lakewood be 100/150 above, when the daily cases haven't been near 100 recently?
Pending results. Plus Howell and Jackson come to Lakewood to be tested but it is listed based on where they live, but they all are fun unzere. Wear a mask. No jokes.
Deletewhats up with the death count that the numbers keep on fluctuating
