  2. Oh well Lakewood, we had a chance of avoiding shutdowns and meddling in our lives. All we had to do was curtail large weddings and use common sense with regards to distancing and masking in public places. That ship has now sailed.

    1. There are upticks in many areas across the country, including areas in which there are no weddings and where people are masked up for months (California, Hawaii, Maryland and many more).

You simply dont have the honesty to accept the truth: that epidemics are not caused and contrlloed by humans but by nature itself.
Instead you thrash wildly, foaming at the mouth, about nonsense like weddings and masks.
You are looking for a scapegoat to let out your frustration. The peasants did that in the dark ages. They blamed the Jews for the Black Plague; scapegoating is a very convenient way of not accepting the truth.
      Coward.

  5. hashem yerachem. not sure why us, as in the public, were not being careful. we became complacent with what is going on. Many people that i know said that they would wear a mask and social distance in shuls stores etc, if others did it but they dont wont to be the only one to do it.
On yom kippur who will be klapping all the Oshmanos-- we sinned: Poshanu--we were negligent?? Yoatzno Rah? we gave bad eitzos to others (ie not to be careful) -- Latzno- we made fun of those with masks.... you can go on and on..
at least now. let us wake up and be careful. i am not calling for nor asking for shul and schools to be closed or a lockdown. only to be extra careful so that this doesnt spread. Shuls should not allow anyone with even a chance they are sick to be there, not even to be in the ezras nashim.
let us all daven Avinu Malkain Umnoy hamgafayah mayalanu, and that all the cholim have a complete and speed refuah shlaima.

  6. I am completely unconcerned (and I did not have COVID)
Many of these "cases" are asypmtomatic, and are only being discovered because schools are requiring testing at opening, as well as testing of entire classes and their families who were possibly exposed. Even the uptick in symptomatic is quite small, given the amount of travel that has happened over the summer and the return to school shuffle. This proves that Lakewood is well beyond the herd immunity level.

    1. doesn't prove that at all, or anything really. But we do know that the total cases were much higher back around Purim - Pesach time, so if it c'v returns to those levels its very possible the hospitalizations and worse could as well r'l.

Highly unlikely that Lakewood has hit herd immunity levels, but I'm sure you're an expert on the subject

Spare us your nonsense. I was in many frum grocery stores today, the smaller stores almost NO ONE was wearing masks, Gourmet Glatt at least 50% was not wearing and NPGS main st Id say at most 30% were wearing masks. I've been seeing the same trend for weeks now, nothing has changed now due to any upticks

  10. Doea anyyne have hard data as to how many of these are cases and how many are infections?
(In many areas around the country these rises are rises in "cases" , which dosnt count in most statistics.)
