    2. It was a complication from COVID-19 pneumonia.
Testing negative more than 10 days after infection does not mean they are not affected by it.

      Delete
    3. Negative tests don't mean anything, the false negative rate is very high.

    4. False positives are also very high

  8. The clear fact is almost every neighborhood had a Covid positive minyan. Due the math. Lakewood is infested. And that does not include the people who didn’t care and went to shul anyway because they decided they didn’t want to test so that they won’t have to quarantine.
It’s about time for every Shul in lakewood to enforce social distancing and stop all kiddushim until we get past this wave. Why wait till it’s too late.

    1. When you learn how to spell you can ask us to "due" the math until then please leave these decisions for the right people

    2. If everyone had it already then we should soon be done with it. Why start with the social distancing now?

Among the younger people the death rate is close to zero. And most elderly are taking precautions. So why should we stop going on with life? Those at risk should stay home or social distanced and let everyone else live normal

      Delete
    4. Guess we should wait until young people start dying before we do anything.

    5. Do you mean they were having kiddushim in Lakewood???? Seriously sick.

Young people dying form covid is as common as people dying from car accidents. Two wonderful young men were killed motze rosh hashana.

So should we all stop driving to save lives?

    7. No, but we should wear seatbelts. Masks in the current environment is no different. And if you raise the flu, tell me the last time there were 20 people hospitalized from Lakewood with the flu.

  9. Reb Moish will be sorely missed he was such a special friendly person.

  10. Please correct it. Almost 20 people were *in the hospital over Yom Kippur* not *were hospitalized over Yom Kippur* there is a huge difference.

  12. CLOSE THE SCHOOLS NOW BEFORE MAYOR COLES DOES IT TO GET THE MEDIA OFF HIS BACK RIGHT BEFORE BALLOTS ARRIVE IN THE MAIL. Expect an announcement from the VAAD/Igud Hamosdos in the next day or two announcing a full closure of ALL unzere schools, and an endorsement of RAY COLES for reelection shortly thereafter. Count on it.

  13. Just because one had it does not guarantee immunity after several months. Antibodies wane t cells are not absolute.and expert virologists across the board admit possibility of reinfection. Mutated strains of coivid 19 are now appearing and previous antibodies are very iffy. Dr ditchek in ny has documented reinfection cases israel has documented cases and clinical studies of injecting corona cold virus into previous infected people with antibodies 1 year.later showed reinfection in high amounts on clinical studies in the Netherlands and.England although symptoms were not severe.but still contagious.

    1. Can we have the results of expert researchers, not someone with MD attached to his name. Those doctors are good for their purposes, but that does not make every opinion of theirs important.
Meanwhile, afaik, the CDC is stating that reinfection is extremely rare, and we don't have to worry about it.

      Delete
    2. You're 100% wrong!

Ditchek has been caught lying way too many times and has no credibility.

Yes, you can test 'positive' if you had it already. It's the way disease works. But, not one person who was symptomatic was symptomatic a second time. That has not happened.

      Delete
    3. I am not accusing Dr Ditchek of anything. He is just not an authority on this kind of thing, it is not his forte.
Some people are trained to do research, that is what they do all day. Let us leave this job to them.

    Note:

At this time, we have limited information about reinfections with the virus that causes COVID-19. This is a new virus, and CDC is actively working to learn more. We will provide updates as they become available. Data to date show that a person who has had and recovered from COVID-19 may have low levels of virus in their bodies for up to 3 months after diagnosis. This means that if the person who has recovered from COVID-19 is retested within 3 months of initial infection, they may continue to have a positive test result, even though they are not spreading COVID-19.

There are no confirmed reports to date of a person being reinfected with COVID-19 within 3 months of initial infection. However, additional research is ongoing. Therefore, if a person who has recovered from COVID-19 has new symptoms of COVID-19, the person may need an evaluation for reinfection, especially if the person has had close contact with someone infected with COVID-19. The person should isolate and contact a healthcare provider to be evaluated for other causes of their symptoms, and possibly retested.

CDC recommends that all people, whether or not they have had COVID-19, take steps to prevent getting and spreading COVID-19. Wash hands regularly, stay at least 6 feet away from others whenever possible, and wear masks.

    1. If schools shut down again there is no one to blame but those who went for testing and those who advised to shut the schools. There is ZERO heter to shut schools. Even if the Gov orders them shut - keep them open! What happened to mesiras nefesh? My whole life I’m hearing speeches about mesiras nefesh and now people rather shut schools then get a fine! Oiy! It’s the for the people of Lakewood NJ to wake up before it’s too late...... Stop being like sheep on the way to be slaughtered!

    3. Stop being sheep in your quest not to wear masks. Just use sechel, masks will perhaps prevent yeshivas from closing, chillul hashem and safek protect someone's life. Seems like an easy cheshbon unless the peer pressure to not wear is too much and you arent willing to do a minor inconvenience that looks different than the crowd (not to mention that in 110 degree weather you wear a hat and jacket even so its hot and sweaty and a mask is no worse)

Masks will not stop schools from closing. It didnt help in Israel and neither will it help here. The numbers will rise whether or not we are wearing masks and once it reaches some threshhold they will want to close the schools

      Trump is right, stop testing

  16. There are 3 cases of reinfection in israel verified by ministry of health dept 2. this week. 1 was a head doctor in Sheba hospital. Ditcheks cases were confirmed and verified by nys health dept and have not been disproved. Hong Kong and s Korea and Nevada cases are now documented as reinfection(1 by mutated strain other possible) The scientist August 2020 has a report of coronavirus 229e positively being reinfecting after 1 year by injecting same virus into previous infected. Most were asymptomatic but contagious and relevance of vivid to 229 e. Virologist m Ghandi and Ellis UNC say all virolgists admit possibility of reinfection although documentation is ongoing. Reinfection in all these cases have occurred only after 3 months or longer. No one claims present antibodies are long effective against mutated strains And they are now popping up in Texas and other parts of world.Dr Aaron Glatt head of mt Sinai infectious disease and Dennis Nash cbc and nyc health board and vinyl professor are the local experts to go to if you wish to check.

  19. To be safe we should close schools for minimum 10 years. Seems like 2 weeks or even 2 months is not enough.

  20. The shutdowns are only prolonging this. Stop the shutdowns, get the non vulnerable affected, and then we can move on. This is ridiculous. We can't close forever.

    1. I have a good idea. Why not just enforce masks and keep schools open? Just try it and see if it works. There is no need to be moiser nefesh. It's just a minor inconvenience, so you just need to be moiser your gaava and take the obvious step.

The modern orthodox have kept their schools and communities largely covid free with shuls and schools open, and while there have been things printed that we may not follow, the key to their success has been masks and distancing, not cutting out piyutim.

Because masks will NOT stop the pandemic and schools will close or not close regardless of mask wearing. Case in point is Isreal. Mask wearing didnt help there
