  1. Can someone from a mesivta write a coherent article addressing the issues, we don't want to hear or read about it from newspaper editors or 3rd party ppl with no experience in this field.

    1. You'll never get a Mesivta owner to come on the air. Or a RY for that matter (the CEO came on once, but nothing special at the time. Though he was evasive of the "you will die in bed" story.)

  3. So the VAAD wakes up when it is time to vote to let you know who to vote for, who will NOT represent us the taxpayer and hamon am. When there is a mesivta acceptance circus not one word from anybody. When the BOE is going broke and soon there wont be any transportation not a word. The emporer has no cloth. We need asap an orginazation that will represent the oilam.

    1. What exactly do you want the vaad to do about mesivtas. Lobby phil murphy? Ray coles? Schnall? Speak to their business associates? I am as anti vaad as you are but that doesn't make them the source of every issue under the sun.

  5. There is no reason to keep Mesivtos open besides the needs of the bochurim. If there were boys who were left stuck, that would be a problem. Are there any? How many? Why can't they attend these 'established' institutions?

  6. Mesivta Chillul Hashem - for Dummies.
it’s very simple. 2 Chosheva Roshei Yeshiva whose sons opened mesivtas in the last few years would call up parents and eighth grade Rabbeim and Menahalim , twisting their arm to send them their sons and students. Situation was getting more and more aggressive with each year. This year was especially aggressive.

Another Mesivta who also opened up fairly recently with a promenet Rov at the helm, Decided that they to will join the fray and start grabbing boys. Once that happened a few other mesivtas that knew about it l, also started taking boys ahead of the Takans.. hence the snowball effect. The “Vaad” for mesivtas published rules which other mesivtas were following…and those who were following the rules got burnt :-). Nice guy finish last!!

  7. You have retired mechanchim with experience moving to Lakewood and putting their names on new mesivtos all these new ones are knocking off the established ones that were catering to local boys

  8. We have enough of these young inexperienced Ruv's in Lakewood who are making a churvah in town by overstepping their boundaries and advising in areas way beyond them, and cause young couples to alienate there parents, maror Shalom Bayis issues etc etc

  9. Too bad for the old established mesivtas, perhaps this will teach them a lesson for excluding boys who were begging to come but whose parents didn't have the money the mesivtas greedly demanded

  14. As a member of the Mesivta staff, I need to express my frustration. I invested hundreds of hours reaching out to schools, parents, and Rabbeim in anticipation of farhers—a process I assumed I had three more weeks to complete. Then, motzei Shabbos, came the phone call: “It’s over—we need to have farhers tomorrow.” We immediately shifted into high gear and scheduled all of our farhers. The result was a disaster. We ended up with boys who, under normal circumstances, would have been in a “better mesivta” because their parents panicked, and many boys who should have come to us ended up in mesivtas that provided answers before Shabbos. It’s a shame that people are not realizing that many of these boys ended up in yeshivas that are not the best fit for them, pressured into decisions which were not in their best interest. In short, all that hard work went down the drain, and the cheaters won.
