Israel At War Thur January 16

 Israel at war day 468

- The cease-fire deal between Israel and Hamas has been formally signed by negotiators in Doha, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced.

- Donald Trump says the hostage-ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas better be finalized before his inauguration on Monday and says his involvement was crucial for the negotiation.“We changed the course of it, and we changed it fast, and frankly, it better be done before I take the oath of office,” he says in a podcast interview with Dan Bongino.
Trump also says “we shook hands, and we signed certain documents, but it better be done.”

- Updated hostage deal schedule:
Teams are waiting for the signing (tonight)
After the signature, the 98 families will receive a personal message: who is on the first release list and who is not. They will not announce who is alive and who is dead.
Only after that will an official announcement from the government be made that an agreement has been signed.
Cabinet meeting tomorrow (Friday)
Sunday: The hearing in the High Court on any suit trying to stop the deal
The release of terrorists and hostages is not expected until Monday.

Trump: "If we were not involved in this deal, the deal never would have happened. No deal would have happened and the hostages probably never would have seen life again... We changed the course of it."

-Ben Gvir: If the deal goes through, we will resign from the government. If the war resumes - we will return

-Minister Ben Gvir threatening to leave the government over hostage deal, cabinet meeting postponed to motzei shabbos

- Israeli cabinet will meet and vote on the hostage deal the first hostages will be released on Sunday.

- Aryeh Deri  at the Shas conference: “I can update you that I was just informed on the way here that the last issue has been finalized, and an official announcement will be made soon”.

- Israel holds off on approving hostage deal, accusing Hamas of reneging on details

- Religious Zionism party opposes hostage deal; right-wing groups protest outside Knesset

- Religious Zionist party issued a statement and made it clear that they demanded that the Prime Minister guarantee Israel's return to war immediately after the end of the first phase - as a condition for the party to remain in the government and coalition

- National Security Council spokesman John Kirby responded to the new crisis in an interview with NBC. According to him, the administration is aware of the issues raised by Prime Minister Netanyahu and is working to resolve them. He also said that the agreement will enter into force on Sunday

- Israeli senior official tells Ch 13 that the Prime Minister assessed the situation this morning and said that if there is no breakthrough in the coming hours, he will consider returning the Israeli delegation to Qatar. The reason for the dispute: Hamas demands a veto on a small number of terrorists who are considered "symbols"; Barghouti is not included in their demandsA senior official in the Prime Minister's entourage: If Hamas does not climb down from the tree - this will not be closed.

Israeli Senior political official: Contrary to distorted reports, Israel is not leaving the Philadelphi axis. Israel remains on the axis throughout Phase A, for all 42 days. The scope of the forces will remain at its current size, but will be deployed differently - including outposts, patrols, observations and control along the entire length of the axis.During Phase A, starting on the 16th, negotiations will open on ending the war.
If Hamas does not agree to Israel's demand to end the war (achievement of the war's goals), Israel will remain on the Philadelphia axis on the 42nd day and, in any case, on the 50th day.

  1. Bibi is stalling. He has no intention of ending this conflict.

  3. All those naysayers who are complaining that Trump turned on the Jews, are the ones who always hated Trump. They all voted for Kamala. If you really think making a cease fire to free the hostages is bad for the Jews, what exactly did you think was going to happen under Kamala?

Here's a little truth you probably missed: Bibi was always going to agree to the deal that is being implemented now. The reason the deal never happened is because Hamas always refused to finalize a deal unless Israel commits to ending the war (not just a temporary cease fire which is the current deal), and Bibi refused to do.

What changed now is that Hamas got scared of Trump, and finally agreed to release hostages without an Israeli commitment to end the war and totally withdraw from Gaza.

We think its a bad deal, but the Israelis think its a good deal, one they were always willing to sign.

Thank you Trump for scaring Hamas into agreeing to release hostages.

    1. It was just the opposite of what occurred. Trump sent his Israeli ME envoy Mr Wickhoff to finalize a deal. Mr W called Bibi and insisted a meeting with him on Saturday. The irreligious Bibi asks that the meeting be delayed til after Shabbos. (Zionists always use Judaism when it is expedient for them). He told Bibi he didn’t care (he used more inappropriate words) and ordered Bibi to meet with him pronto. No one can pressure Hamas. They will fight until they are given the right of self-determination.

  4. Any hostages not released will probably be killed, Rachmana Litzlan.
The actual lowlives holding the hostages were not consulted by the Qatar "negotiators,".

  5. Now is the time to be mischazek in the emuna peshuta in Trump.
True, it seems like he turned on Israel and forced Bibi into a deal that is terrible for Israel, but we need to believe that all that he does is correct and wise, and not allow these nisyonos to sway our emunah.
