- El Al flight LY27, originally bound for Newark  from Tel Aviv, has now landing at Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport, after declaring an emergency and diverting due to a sick  passenger on board 

- The garbage truck that Trump rode in during the presidential campaign when Biden called his supporters garbage, will appear at the inaugural parade in Washington DC next Monday 

- Santa Ana winds will return to Southern California this week, bringing extreme fire threats across the region that could complicate efforts to fight ongoing wildfires.

- BDE: Petirah of Rav Mordechai Moshe Perlman zt”l, R”M and Mashgiach of Yeshivas Ohr Somayach in Yerushalayim for . He was 76. He was from the early talmidim of yeshiva Mir Yerushalayim. The levaya took place today.


- Rav Yitzchok Soloveitchik shlita R'Y Sharei Simcha in Yerushalayim will deliver a shiur today at BMG Beren hall 12:45 pm on the sugya of Eishes Ach shel Yavom

- Lakewood BOE has authorized two lawsuits against the state. Those suits are for alleged “false findings” in a 2024 state review and for failing to provide additional funds for special education services. APP reports the board reappointed former state monitor Robert Finger as a new consultant post that will pay him $110 per hour, up to $20,000, of taxpayer money. (App)

- New Jersey Gov Phil Murphy  will sign the Target Zero Commission bill today.
The legislation, which was approved unanimously by both chambers, will establish a 13-member commission to devise strategies to eliminate all traffic fatalities and serious injuries in New Jersey by 2040.

- Bobov, Chabad, and Satmar yeshivas have filed a federal civil rights complaint against New York City and State Education Departments, alleging pervasive discrimination against Jewish schools.

- With February 1, 2025, just around the corner, Lakewood property owners are reminded that the latest quarter’s property taxes are due. Timely payments are crucial to avoid interest and penalties. This applies to property owners who pay their taxes directly to the Township, rather than through their mortgage lender. 
Property taxes can be paid online at Lakewood Township’s website via ACH (one-time or automatic quarterly payments) or through a one-time credit/debit card payment.

  3. How can NYC DOE oppose yeshivas, isnt Eric Adams a friend of the frum? I see he has pictures with askanim and even has a police chief that wears a yarmulka who protects the Yidden of NYC from attacks.

  7. How about eliminating those 20-25 MPH areas that are really designed to ticket drivers, nothing to do with safety? (Although I admit it's an excuse for DWB).

    If you want safety, make the whole state 20 MPH.
