- Mesivta farher commentary from LNN
The fallout has been significant. Elementary schools often delay starting the review process until closer to Tu BiShvat. This year, however, students were rushed into farhers without adequate preparation “Most elementary schools hadn’t even started the chazarah program yet,” the source explained. “Now, boys are attending farhers without proper preparation, which is a big problem.”
Adding to the quagmire, some mesivtas pressured parents for immediate decisions. Families were forced to commit to one school while waiting for answers from another, leaving many to face major dilemmas and broken promises.
The rushed process has also placed undue strain on rebbes and elementary schools. In cases where students are rejected, parents sometimes blame the rebbe for not providing a strong enough recommendation. “It’s unfair to the rebbeim because there wasn’t even a farher to assess the student. This puts the reason for the student being rejected squarely on the rebbe,” the source lamented.
“The students know what's going on,” the source said. “They see their peers getting in without studying, and it sends the wrong message.”
Efforts have been made in the past to standardize the process, but maintaining cooperation among mesivtas has proven challenging.
“It’s a societal problem,” the source admitted. “No single party is to blame. Everyone—mesivtas, elementary schools, and parents—is contributing to the chaos.”

What does this all tell you...WE ARE LACKING LEADERSHIP. PERIOD.
ReplyDeleteI can only envision R Chaim Volozhiner looking on ,and smiling. This is what I had in mind!
ReplyDeletehow can an ir Torah, a Yerushalayim of America, literally a mini Eretz Hakodesh can there be such a poretz geder where yeshivas compete against one another against the directives of Daas Torah. we must make a macho to defend the kibud of Daas Torah, otherwise we are not better than those in Bergenfield, Teaneck, Tenafly who have long ago ignored Daas Torah. Also we must take away the chechsher of any establishment that we will be selling any specials for lehavdil some big game on Feb. 9th where a bunch of shkotzim will be hitting each other and falling on each other over a ball made of chazar. this is a Torah town founded by reb aron.
ReplyDeleteis there any reason to be motzi shem ra on the Jews of bergenfield etc? Time to worry about your own problems instead of criticizing others
DeleteI have seen women there not cover their hair and wear pants, this is huge breach in tznius we cannot allow 1 issue to be ignored eventually people go OTD because of these breaches.
DeleteYou mean “because of these breeches.”
DeleteMaybe if we stopped calling it a ir hatorah etc And generally stopped patting ourselves on the back At every single opportunity maybe we'll be one step closer to solving the mess called Lakewood
DeleteAll this can be avoided by sending to an out of town mesivta. And your son may shtieg better by being goel lmakom torah.
ReplyDeleteNot maybe, for sure. Tried and true. But just like expensive simchos and unaffordable cars, houses, vacations, clothes etc. the response is always, "what should I do? Everyone does it."
DeleteIf people stopped the madness, it can end.
We are all to blame for the mesivta fiasco
ReplyDeleteParents want to send only to top schools
We want a class only of מצוינים denying our good average boys a healthy yeshiva by forcing them to be 2nd class.
Yeshivos have no choice but to be a א yeshiva otherwise parents won't send to them. We are all feeding into the frenzy
שקר שקר שקר
Deletethis is not really true. there are many mesivtos geared towards bais bochurim and many parents who want to send to them and it is very hard to get into the "good" ones.
DeleteSo much for Lakewood voting for Trump there goes all the government programs
ReplyDeleteThe olam will not cover the rent or have food for shabbos
Where is Agudah to call Trump out on this?
Where's Democrat Avi Schnal??
This is exactly why we voted for him! Why would we want the government spending our hard earned $ without the proper oversight? Hopefully this will put a stop to wasteful spending and get people to be נהנה מיגיע כפם. אכיה"ר
DeleteWe voted for this, we want this, we are happy with this. We all wish we wouldn't be so dependent on $100 WIC checks.
DeleteNo worries the lakewood watsapp sensation going after the mesivtas who broke the rule that never started will name all the mesivtas
ReplyDeleteThey 100% should. Especially, if they think they did nothing wrong it shouldn't be a problem:)
DeleteHow sad that this is what it comes down to someone who forwards news will go after the mesivtos while giving a restaurant review and football highlights or after the daily choshed beksherim handicap parking pictures not showing the front decal or knowing the story.
DeleteWhat a shame and sad
Instead of Rav Mattisyahu we have watsapp admins
Wawa should be demolished along with the new addition behind it. Kennedy boulevard should be open across squankum as the original township planner had planned when Lakewood actually had planners instead of pigs at a trough giving away public thoroughfares for private development.
ReplyDeleteChap arein wic and snap before the momey dries up
ReplyDeleteCan't believe all you charedim voted for trump
ReplyDeleteThe oilam is very happy with this, actually. We wish we weren't addicted to $100 WIC checks.
DeleteBy the way, the food stamps are continuing.
So you're mad that the food stamps are continuing? Since you say you want the checks to end?
DeleteWhen they came for the grants I did not speak up because I did not get any grants
ReplyDeleteThen they came for the loans but I did not speak up because I did not get any loans
Then they came for my food stamps...
Liar. Food stamps are still continuing.
DeleteTrump cannot unilaterally stop all food stamps and medicaid. It does not work that way. This is just a bunch of panic. On that note, there is no reason that people should continue to get handouts year after year while the rest of us struggle to pay our bills. It is time to overhaul the system where it is truly a lifeline and not a way of life.
ReplyDeleteIf Reb Matisyahu z"l was still around he would have known exactly how to deal with the mesivta dilemma.
ReplyDeleteno one would even think of going against him
It was pretty bad when he was alive
Deletehe always had the last word. no one would ever think of violating.
Deleteso sad that there is no one to lead us the same way.
Should go back to how it was in the days of R' Nosson z"l
DeleteA White House official told Fox News Digital that the memo was initially "misreported" and does not constitute a funding freeze on federal financial assistance across the board. The official said the pause is expressly limited to programs, projects, and activities that may be impacted by President Donald Trump's executive orders, such as ending diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), the Green New Deal, and funding nongovernmental organizations that the White House suspect undermine national interest.
ReplyDeleteThe memo exempts any program that provides direct benefits to Americans from the review process. That includes Social Security, Medicare and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), the official said.
How I wish the government would stop with all the inefficent government programs and go back to the good old days when only one parent needed to work like in the 50's and 60's with minimal tax. We all have relied on the government for way too long.
ReplyDeleteSilly.
Deletea. The tax brackets were higher in the '50s.
b.
The corporate world was held at bay then, which allowed appreciation for a lesser lifestyle.
That was till our community decided it's a boon to internationally aggrandize.
oh, & pauperize everybody else
The higher tax brackets were good for all of us.
DeleteThere is no societal need for anyone to own that much money.
& these people by comparison have some problem with a fair version of socialism
Deleteגאוה גאוה גאוה
ReplyDeleteשמינית שבשמינית!
DeleteHere is a partial list of potentially affected program by Trump's freeze:
ReplyDeleteFederal Transit Formula Grants, which local officials use to operate city buses and trains.
The National School Lunch Program, which feeds poor schoolchildren.
The Wildfire Crisis Strategy Landscapes, which funds projects to prevent wildfires.
The CHIPS Incentives Program, which supports the manufacturing of semiconductors in the U.S.
Special Education Grants to States, which help students with disabilities.
This affects us, and our community. We rely on the special ed funds, and Lakewood's bus service is based on a federal grant.
Did we really vote for this?
When the story was that Trump is pausing SNAP benefits, his sycophantic, moronic, yated believers announced, "Yes! This is what we want! No more living off the government! We voted for this, and are getting what we voted for."
ReplyDeleteWhen it was discovered to be a mistake, they immediately and unironically claimed, "See, it was a lie. He is not stopping SNAP benefits."
Are they complaining now that they aren't getting what they voted for? Or, more likely, had no idea what they were voting for, and liked the general idea of Trump and his gutter style of talking, living, and acting? Basically, their vote was to drop into the gutter with him and his ilk.
And the alternative offered was what?
