A crowd of 50,000 gathering now in Monroe for the lag Baomer Mahadura of the Satmar Rebbe Rav Aaeon Teitelbaum. The rebbe spoke about the current events in Miron as this year the thousands were not able to go and he hopes that with the large crowd in Monroe and elsewhere it will be a compensation for Reb Shimon as they have their heart in Meron even from a distance.
Very nice, however it's interesting that the Satmar shitah was against ANY change in mesorah, and was certainly NOT the custom in Satmar to make a medurah on Log BaOmer. Just saying..
ReplyDeleteCorrect. Previous Satmar Rebbes didn't do this in Chutz Laaretz. And the current Satmar Rebbe R. Zalman Leib doesn't do it either. It is an innovation of the KJ Rebbe.
DeleteYou don’t have to say it. Reb Aron himself said it many years ago, that our minhag is NOT to make hadlakos in chutz la’aretz. He even mocked it!
