Police evacuated a West Side shul with about 250 people, police say, with nothing found. 
 At least three synagogues and a museum in New York received bomb threats on Saturday but none were deemed credible by the New York Police Department.

- BDE: Petirah of Rav Yechiel Yitzchok Perr zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Derech Ayson of Far Rockaway. He was 89. He attended high school at Yeshivas Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin and then at Bais Medrash Govoah in Lakewood, where he learned under the rosh yeshiva, Rav Aharon Kotler, from 1954 to 1962. Rav Aharon sent Rav Perr to learn at Yeshiva of Philadelphia and be a member of the group of the founding talmidim of the yeshiva. Rav Perr married his wife, Rebbetzin Shoshana, née Nekritz, daughter of Rav Yehuda Leib Nekritz. In 1969, he founded Yeshiva of Far Rockaway, which he led for decades together with the late menahel, Rav Ahron Brafman. 
The levayah will be held tomorrow morning 11:00am at Yeshiva of Far Rockaway, located at 802 Hicksville Road in Far Rockaway, NY. With kevurah in EY on har Hamenuchos(Matzav)

    I don't think there has been a single generation of Americans that did not say Congress has to be fixed. But, the Constitution, and history, puts the sovereign power of government in Congress.

    One interesting point was that everyone goes home for Shabbos on Thursday whereas fifty years ago, Congressmen lived in Washington. This prevents them from knowing each other and makes it harder to compromise, which Henry Clay said, is the essence of politics.

    1. In the old old days, it took several days / weeks to get back to a congressman's district. Now it's a few hours flight, no big deal. So they "lived" with each other, socialized with each other , etc.. (bipartisan baseball game was one remaining example.). COVID didn't help.
