I agree. Communism is so much better. Our great grandparents in Russia were much richer than we are today. Plus, they felt equal, because everyone had the same amount of rubles in their pocket. No one had to rely on charity, the government guaranteed the bread every day with the ration cards. Life was just so much better and simpler in those days. No havoc.

DeleteSince Raegan supported the debunked 'trickle-down' theory of economics, granting the 1% what they wanted, the distance between the rich and poor has grown exponentially, and social mobility has decreased in America. Many other countries have surpassed America in social mobility, which should be the only yardstick to measure the internal success of a country. If people have the ability to change their circumstances, the country is filled with hope. That is becoming more and more difficult in America, as extreme capitalism becomes more and more dominant.

Social mobility means the ability to leave your income level and social class and rise to a higher one. Someone born in poverty today has less chances and ability to escape that cycle than someone from before Raegan. Because the constant legup the rich receive from their circumstances convinces them that they used their own bootstraps, and everyone can do the same. It is not true, and we should stop our blind belief in extreme 'greed is good' capitalism.

Good Luck building halls to make affordable weddings. Unfortunately we raised the bar so high in this crazy town that the girls, and boys for that matter, only want to get married in the most glitzy fancy halls, and of course only with a name brand musician.
