DeleteI pass both gazebo park and the plaza several times every Shabbos on my way to and from Shul. It could be there is action in Gazebo Park. I never go inside so perhaps I don't notice but I walk directly through the plaza on my way to and from shul. Although I frequently see kids at risk hanging out there the worst I've ever seen them actually doing was throwing a beer bottle. And that was a few months ago.

This is not the solution, girls should have every right to spend their 4 years of high school in a setting that fits them not to satisfy powerful ppl who use them as pawns.

DeleteIf, however, there's any chance that you need the help of this vaad, then follow their recommendations. Very simple. They're only there to help those who have no school at all.
Take your word 'deserve' and throw it out. We have to live based upon the circumstances that exist. If a girl deserves more, then build her your school yourself. Or move to a place where there's one or two community schools.

The Vaad isn't here to help. They stop others from helping. If there wouldn't be a Vaad, an askan/Rav or other chashuve Yid could go to a school owner and appeal to their conscience to accept a child.

Great. You absolutely have the right to solve the problem by making new schools . From what I hear ,there is going to be about 250 more girls going into 9th grade than last year. That is over 8 new classed needed. With some schools downsizing their clas sizes from over 40 ,we might need 10 new classes. Most existing schools dont have space for new classes so we are waiting for the bloggers to create them .You are certainly entitled to create these classes. But if your only help is to constantly sit and make anonymous comments bashing others that actually do something ,that won't create the needed space the town needs.
DeleteYou cannot choose your school of choice. If you are accepted by any of the 4 you will not be accepted to any of the others and the vaad won't help you. There is no option of school choice in Lakewood. Maybe there is a connection to this issue and the large number of girls.hanging out In Westgate. ReplyDeleteAnyone who’s making comments here bashing the people speaking up about the OTD kids in WG obviously doesn’t live there and has no idea what’s going on. We routinely get woken up in middle of the night by these kids yelling, cursing, screaming, smashing bottles etc. In the evenings (especially Friday night) these kids are running through the streets cursing and spitting, sitting in the gazebo smoking who knows what, and generally scaring people. The neighborhood kids are scared to walk by themselves. Police are there on a routine basis. The quality of life is seriously deteriorating.
