DeleteMincha is 40 min. after shkia maariv is 60 min.
DeleteWhile I am sure the rhe rabbonim in some of these shuls have good reasons why the are davening maariv so early, it is worth noting for many years (as far as I know) every shul in lakewood would wait until a certain shiur of nightfall to daven maariv, as seems to be the better way halachicaly
ReplyDeleteThe Heter for Ashkenazim to Daven this way is only for people who otherwise woulldn't be able to make it to Shul for Maariv. Ask your Posek!
ReplyDeleteRav Aaron was makpid to wait
I believe R' Blech had mincha/maariv going back a really long time presumably because there were elderly people who it would be hard to come back for Maariv. I believe R' Gissinger also hesitantly allowed the Mincha/Maariv start as the Mincha Minyan in the winter @4:15ish was having a hard time having a minyan unless some elderly people would join who wanted a maariv to go along..
ReplyDeleteSons of Israel has a mincha /maariv together.
Maybe Hefkervelt can make a post about the pros and cons of davening together
Reb Mendel lerner would say the daf shiur bet mincha and maariv at Rabbi Blech, Before rabbi tender came to sons of Israel, if there was a mincha at all, very few of the yeshiva community would have known about it.
DeleteWhat’s the heter to daven so early? It’s not like in Europe where it was dangerous to go back out later.
ReplyDeleteCan we compile a list of all chalav stam products?
DeleteIf I don't label myself yeshivish I am aloud to do what ever I want.
ReplyDeleteSure?
DeleteWhat about if someone labels themselves post-orthodox or post-denominational?
If you’re Jewish whether you’re yeshivish or not you can’t. If you’re chassidish you can as they have their own set of rules which states if you have a rebbe you follow whatever he says if you don’t aka tuna beigel you have the abbreviated version of Yiddishkeit and can do as you please.
