 Weather: 37° Sunny with gusty winds. High 37F.  at 20 to 30 mph. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

- Kevin McCarthy vows to remove Reps. Eric Swalwell and Adam Schiff from their committee assignments, in addition to Ilhan Omar, when Republicans retake control of the House in January (Fox News).

- Nikki Haley: "A lot people have asked if I'm going to run for president now that the midterms are over. I'll look at it in a serious way and I'll have more to say soon."

- BDE: Petira of Reb Nuchem Gold ZL originally from Brooklyn moved to Lakewood a talmid muvhak of Torah Voddas. He gave shiurim and shmuessen at Tav Goldblatts yeshiva. The Levaya is taking place 10:45 am at the Lakewood chapel on 7th st. Kevura in Long Island. 

- LFD to raise taxes again The Lakewood fire commissioners are planning to spend an additional 2 million dollars for capital improvements. The budget will not need voter approval as was done in the past Faanews reports. Fire Dept budget for last year 2022 was at $8,892,315 Million up $600k from the previous year. That was besides an additional $1.6 million in taxes to purchase a new ladder truck.

- FBI director says US Jews under threat ‘from all sides’ amid rise in antisemitism He said that some 63 percent of religious hate crimes were motivated by antisemitism, “and that’s targeting a group that makes up about 2.4% of the American population.”

- Local pediatricians report cases of Flu going around. 

- Prices at local kosher supermarkets keep rising across the board inflation is a factor.

- Annual Chabad Kinus Hashluchim will take place later today at the NJ convention and Expo Center in Edison, NJ.

- Ocean County officials have recently granted major leeway to Lakewood developers which could ultimately speed up development of 175 homes (and possibly even more) on Cross Street near Massachusetts Avenue in Lakewood, FAA News has learned see full story here

  1. when reporting price raises in supermarkets, please recognize the fact that they apply to all supermarkets, not necessarily kosher. the price of eggs has gone through the roof and that is a key ingredient in many foods. The price of oil went up by a third a year ago and that caused many raises as well.

    1. Not kosher supermarkets products are much cheaper. Compare the prices of cereal macaroni vegetables and much more. I would recommend only buying chicken meat and milk at Jewish stores.

    2. you may want to double check on your prices many items are regularly cheaper at jewish stores such as squash, cherry tomatoes - I've found macaroni often goes on sale cheaper than the non Jewish stores (of late).75lb I would recommend some due diligence you may very well be paying more at shoprite even at aldi/walmart for some of your items
