Letter From Rav Shmuel Kamenetzky shlita Re: Corona Vaccine.

In a letter written today by Rav Kamenetsky shlita  he notifies that he never gave a psak on the new coronavirus vaccine and he has not said any opinion for or against taking it, rather every individual should consult with their doctor for their personal needs,  signed with all the brachos for a refuah shelaima.. see letter below

  1. isnt reb shmuel always advertized as the backing for anti-vaxxers?

Surely listenig to medical opinion doesnt fit with that

    1. There's what he has to say in public, and the there's what he tells people in private. That's just how the world works.

    2. THIS. This is the very WORST form of misrepresentation. You are essentially saying that the gedolim don't mean what they say and don't say what they mean. Based on this non-sensical fallacy you will never listen to anyone else's opinion if it doesnt fit with your own.

  2. Remember, we can't trust the conniving evil askkkanim as the Agudah - they never put the rabbonims' names on things! Much more Ehrlich and unzere and bnei torah etc to have a situation like this.

    1. I think you might find that the anti-vax community is firmly in the right wing pro-trump camp. This fraud is in their hands.

  5. Something must be done about the prior fake
pashkvil and the continued and incessant hijacking of the names of Gedolim. This MUST STOP. There must be an effort to track down the people who do this and there must be REAL consequences.

    1. No, you should do something about your weak belief system. Don't believe pashkevilln, none of them. Whichever name they print on it.

    2. indeed, it was rather irresponsible of hefkervelt to post that pashkvil, as many ppl would naively fall for it.

    3. Pray tell, how should a consequence be enforced?

    4. Bais Din, Cherem, Niduy, no shiduchim, etc....... Or perhaps some shiurim in Shmiras halsohon.

    5. Unfortunately, "Midvar Sheker Tirchak" has the Mazel of being a clear issur d'Araysa, rather thean stam a chumra with no basis. If it were the latter, it would be scrupulously observed.

    6. I'm sure many people know who it was. He or they is hijacking the reputation of Torah, Gedolei Hatorah and Bnai Torah to promote his own personal cause. Too much of that is going on lately.

In my opinion, there is no reason why we ostracize people for the silliest things and don't ostracize whoever is behind this.I'm sure the same people who work to ban everything else can take steps to make sure this person is never given a public platform again.
