Lakewood and NJ residents have taken advantage of the Electric Vehicle Incentive of up to $5,000 (and $3000 from Costco auto program) notice the Chevy Bolt and Hyundai cars on the road. The program has currently run out of funding and is expected to replenish later this year in the summer of 2021 with $30 million. As it is only those leases that were signed before December 15 are eligible for the rebate no later than March 15. About 4,500 applications have already been approved for Charge Up New Jersey.
ChargeupNJ Post-Purchase or Lease Program Update Due to the overwhelming popularity of the Charge Up New Jersey program, most of the program’s FY 2021 funding will be allocated by the end of 2020. According to the EV program requirements (published in the FY 2021 Compliance Filing), all incentives are subject to availability of funds. Therefore, applicants must purchase or lease their EV on or before December 15, 2020 and submit their application to the program portal by March 15, 2021 to be eligible for a post-purchase incentive.
