  2. The camps should also crack down on the amount of clothing that kids bring to camp specifically for girls, the pressure of having to wear a different dress for every shabbos meal. Camps are supposed to take kids away from all the yearly nonsense and not facilitate the societal pressures.

    1. Its time for girls camps to institute a uniform. The pressure on parents is immense.

    2. Either don't send your daughter to a camp that requires so many Shabbos outfits or take a stand and teach your daughter to have a backbone and not feel such strong peer pressure.

We proudly bought 3 Shabbos dresses for each of my daughters going to camp, and they took a fourth dress from last year or they are trading / sharing with each other.

This is definitely a last minute pressure, but you can get a third/fourth dress for very reasonable prices in the two weeks before camp at 50% or 60% off full price. That's what we did.

    3. Additionally, kidichic has beautiful classic Shabbos dresses at amazing prices even when not on sale! We had a lot of hatzlocha there for my preteens.

I hope one day you experience what other experience when they don't have money and have to buy 3 shabbos dresses for each daughter going to camp.
Are you insane? Since when do we get 3 shabbos dresses just for camp???

    5. Anon 6:27 sending 4 dresses is also too much and giving into pressure.

    6. Agree that four is too many! That's why we only bought 3 dresses each and they figured it out.

  3. The camp wardrobe is costing an additional $1000 it's outta control. We need leadership to bring fun back into camp and get rid of the pressure and bullying of campers by other campers

  4. Steve Bannon says that the safety of Jews in America is "conditional upon one thing, and that's a hard weld with Christian nationalism." Do you think Lakewood will get a special exemption for being so passionately pro-Trump?

    2. Calm down. He's talking about the hard-left-Jews who hate America and hate Israel too. I think we can all agree with Bannon that those Jews need some petch.

    3. "He's talking about?" What nonsense. You think he'll be nice to you because you're a "good Jew." How often was that mistake made by our ancestors. Hate to break it to you, but to him you are the same as all other Jews.

    4. "mistake by our ancestors" When? Share an example.
There were many generations where jews were protected. An accident??
(Even nazis admitted there were good jews. Had they been more in public instead of the predominant macher organizations..)

    5. You must be kidding. The Nazis killed countless "good" Jews.
