- Lakewood township officials postpone construction on 7th street railroad tracks to the week after Tisha Bav during bein hazmanim when there's less traffic.

- Heavy flooding this afternoon after a downpour with some trees falling over and puddles on roadways after rain came down quickly.

- Stop & Shop plans to close stores in Howell, Point Pleasant Beach and Jackson by the beginning of November as part of a plan to shed underperforming locations, company officials said Friday. The Howell location is near Target and Walmart off rt 9.

- Beginning tomorrow Monday, July 15, until 5 p.m. Friday, July 19, 7th Street in Lakewood will be closed in both directions from Marys Lane to Park Avenue to remove and reconstruct the existing railroad crossing and approaches. Access will be maintained for local traffic. Motorists are advised to follow the signed detours.
