  1. Incredible! Every person, school and Mossad is able to get planning permission to build with variances etc. Only one shul hasn’t been able to... but no one should suspect foul play!!

    3. How are a measly 360 parking spots for the new "Bais Shaindel Wedding Hall" enough for a hall which is even bigger than Lake Terrace?

The caterer himself will also use many of those spots for his truck loading/unloading, refrigerated trucks, storage containers, large wheeled trays, waiters cars, etc..

Just take a look at the side of the Lake Terrace Hall where many spots are used for the caterer's needs and due to this, there aren't enough spots left for the guests.

We need a place to park all our cars!

  5. Hundreds of girls sounds a little vague. Is it 200 , 300 , 400 that are not in school ? Please be a little more specific.

  6. You've got to be kidding! 2 schools off Prospect St., which is already a parking lot at certain hours of the day?!? I thought, that with all the overcrowding Lakewood is experiencing, along with the many complaints generated, the township would start to act more responsibly. This is beyond incomprehesible. Our elected officials are only serving themselves, not the citizens of Lakewood. Why not? We keep electing them again & again anyway.

    1. Guess what else.. There's another MAJOR application coming to the Prospect St. & Massachusetts area next week. SP 2477 Chemdas Hatorah together with its silent investor want to build approximately 74 duplexes.

I appreciate the suggestion to rename the street to be called "Prospect Parking Square", but perhaps it should be instead renamed "Prospect Burial Grounds" because it doesn't seem like anyone will ever be able to move again on that roadway.

  11. Another office bldg is coming to James/Cross. So Prospect/James/Cross/Williams will become a solid parking lot. And when Eagle Ridge becomes housing, it will mysteriously open up, as per the town engineer. Laughable.

  12. Meanwhile there is one shul that can’t be built because of Kinah, sinah and gaava. They have to learn to line the right pockets. Stop fighting and complaining and just bribe M&M.

  13. Please correct your post. It says no answers were given to hundreds of girls.I personally know a few of them that could have gotten answers but chose to apply to only 3 schools that already have close to or over 40 per class. There are a few schools that would have gladly made several additional classes if these type of people would have applied. There are another few schools that have class sizes between 25 and 30 and could have taken more oer class if these types of people would have applied. Yes. I'm sure there are 20 or 30 that would go anywhere and really need to be placed. But the majority could have gotten in if they were willing to go to schools that have place . Yes I understand that you feel each parent has the right to go where they feel its best ,and we all agree , but if there is no room in the older fuller schools , then you have no choice and need to accept from what is available. You can't keep your daughter unmarried till 40 because you think she can do better and you can't keep your daughter out of school because you think she deserves a better school ,when the better school is packed with siblings.

  14. So for the crime of being the oldest girl in her family, a girl should be forced to separate from her friends and go to av school where she will feel she doesn't fit in, and enter adolescence full of resentment?

  15. @ Anonymous 1:51. If that's true, and it's only a numbers game, how come some who move from out of town get into school right away while fine girls from families who live in Lakewood for a very long time haven't found a place yet? Yes, it's true that some of these girls could get into schools they don't want. But it's not as simple as that. Sometimes a little (or alot) of money passed under the table, or some other type of influence and pull, can suddenly open up a slot in a school, which didn't exist before. It's a numbers game sometimes. But all players aren't playing on a level playing field. In this town, it's who you know, in too many areas.

  16. @ Anonymous 1:51. The phrase "these type of people" which you used in your post is part of the problem.

    1. All these types of people robably means ,are people who have no problem getting into school but hold out for only specific schools that are full . As opposed to people who really are not picky but really can't get in anywhere. I don't think he intended anything else.

  17. You are not responding tzum Zach to what he said. Nobody said its a crime to be the oldest. What are you suggesting. That some schools have unlimited class sizes even over 50 or maybe 60 so that every group of friends can be together ?

    ReplyDelete
  18. What he probably means is that schools should not give preference to siblings and give an oldest non siblings the same chance. Its not fair to an oldest that she should be penalized because she is not a sibling.

  19. All the complainers dont address one issue. There are at least 150 extra new girls every year graduating 8th grade every year. So if there are 1500 8th grade girls this year there will be over 2000 graduating in 4 years . That is an extra 15 classes. Everybody screams we need new schools. But when new schools open and have space , nobody wants to be the first to go because they feel they are entitled to go to an established school where their sibling friends are going. So how exactly are these numbers supposed to work ? There are a number of schools that have plenty of space for 1 or 2 extra classes this year but everybody wants to go to the full schools.

I dont really get what you are saying. The commenter point was that there are a bunch of older schools that are in the 40s per class filled mostly with siblings. So obviously the only eitza is that some people go to the newer schools that have room. What does your point about some people getting in because of pull have to do with that? Lemasse the schools are packed with 45 in a class ,pull or no pull . If oldest girls non siblings dont want to go to newer schools ,then what exactly is the solution ? Somebody is going to get left out, doesn't matter who it is and a lot of those somebody's have to settle for newer schools.
