Forest Fire in Lakewood Burns, Buildings Destroyed

- Fire is still going strong near Bingo (LNN)
- Red-flag warning through Monday afternoon, which means that critical fire weather conditions are expected due to a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and dry brush and trees.
-GSP has reopened to traffic
- Shidduch dates had to be relocated as there was no access to some of the dating rooms hosted by businesses in industrial park
-Fire fighters will be stationed at Blue claws parking lot overnight.

- Brick  Mayors 3 of the 29 homes damaged in the fire today are uninhabitable
 -Fire now over 50% contained per forest fire service. Still VERY windy, presenting a big challenge. Fire is 160 acres in Lakewood and Brick Twps. @6abc
- Brick Township Mayor John Ducey says at least 29 homes have been damaged in Brick Township as a result of the Lakewood Fire Nothing catastrophic.(Jim Murdoch news 12)

A Sunday afternoon brush fire in Lakewood grew out of control and has forced the closure of several miles of the Garden State Parkway near mile marker 89, authorities announced. Lakewood police reported a “large” brush fire neat Airport Road and Cedarbridge Avenue, The parkway is closed in both directions from Exit 82 to Exit 91 due the multi-alarm fire, according to the State Police.  Reporter for the Lakewood shopper confirms that the office building at 150 Airport Road in Lakewood has been completely destroyed after a brush fire started across the street; and now continues to burn out of control. Fire fighting aircraft and helicopters are battling the blaze.
