Lakewood BOE Budget Meeting Tax Increase and $69 Million Loan Request

 Lakewood owes the state of NJ $140 million and now are requesting another $69 million loan
The Lakewood Board of Education will host a virtual meeting tonight 7:00 pm to introduce the budget for the school district’s 2021-2022 year.
The total budget is  $291,587,611 
Tax Levy on local property tax is $109,648,164  plus a request for a $69 million dollar loan from the state
The board approves  $750,000 for Legal services

  1. they just got over 100 million dollars, why should taxes be raised??

    1. This money can not be used for regular budget. Only for specific things related to Covid ,mental health fir covid kids and things like that. Reooening expenses fir social distancing . Cant pay teachers salaries or any regular expenses .
      This 1.9 trillion is mostly a big waste of money. Democrats know how to waste money very well.

    2. The State mandates a 2% increase in taxes so long as we owe them money and can't yet pay them back completely. Really it should be given to us, not loaned, but the State is having its own money problems right now too!
