  1. When Bikur Cholim has time in between interviews, they should actually stock the rooms in the hospitals like they claim to. Or tell everyone publicly that there is no food in the hospitals, and they should bring their own.

    4. What a bitter life you must have to come up with a nasty comment on Bikur Cholim.
But I’m happy for you that you obviously never needed them and you were not able to see the amazing mesiras nefesh and dedication that that have for each and every individual.

    6. Is there anyone who would like to start a gofundme for this parasite.

    7. Nobody needs to provide me with food. But they should stop telling people that there is food when there isn't.
Bikur Cholim in NY is amazing, in Lakewood it may also be. They may save lives with treatments. But they do not provide food. If you need to go to hospital, do not rely on them, because it is quite common for them not to have.

    8. Anon 11:41 - Why do Bikur Cholim need a room? What do I gain from them having a room if there isn't basic food there on Shabbos?

I love all these whining answers. If Bikur Cholim keep hearing the words 'amaaaaaaaazing', they have no reason to up their game. It is these comments that will actually get you bunch of parasites something to eat when they are stuck in hospital.

    11. Instead of ganging up on him - listen to him.
No one is saying Bikur Cholim is not a wonderful organization but - yes - more attention needs to be paid to hospital pantries.
And I say that from personal experiences.

  3. Of course there is food. On weekdays, when you could theoretically go yourself and get your own food. Then there is an abundance of food.
But on Shabbos, when people cannot bring food or even Kidush with them, you are quite likely to be stuck with stale bagels or less.

This needs to be publicized, let Bikur Cholim answer if they want. But they need to answer publicly, not through interviews of how amazing they are.

    1. Is there Kiddush available in all wards over the whole Shabbos? For those that came in during Shabbos and have a long labor, as well as those who came in before?
    2. Is there Lechem Mishna available for someone who arrived during Shabbos and could not bring any along?
    3. Are there any Seforim available for people to use? Not a lost and found from what others lost, but a Shas, Mishnayos, Chumash and Halacha as a bare minimum for those who cannot carry on Shabbos?
    4. Will there be hand Matzos available for people on Pesach?
    5. Will there be the food that people customarily eat on Pesach available for those who are stuck?

You are all right, nobody is owed any food by anyone. But an organization that raises money claiming that they give food, an organization that tells people that they don't need to bring anything, because they have it covered, owes it to the town to have the basic minimum that they need, which is Kidush and Lechem Mishna, at ALL HOURS OF SHABBOS. Because emergencies do not follow schedules.
Otherwise, they should close down, and let someone else take over. I am sure that the Chassidim who moved to town will be happy to take it over, NY style.

  5. Not sure what everyone here is talking about. I’ve benefited many times in various hospitals from well stocked Bikur Cholim rooms. If you think there is an issue, call them and volunteer to help or donate something instead of posting negative posts on a blog

    1. I ended up in hospital on Pesach via Hatzola. Not only was there plenty of food but there was tons of hand matza, grape juice, nosh, snacks and everything else you care to name. Thank you Bikur Cholim for everything that you do.
