How far we have come since the governor tried, but failed, to get Lakewood $30 million in 2019? Instead of fixing the formula, it seems the bigger concern is to have enough in the state budget just to lend the money.

"In FY 2024 to date, about $33.3 million in State aid advance payments were
provided through the School District Deficit Relief Account to the Lakewood
Township School District. Of this amount: $18.7 million was supported by
repayments of previously provided State aid advance payments; $7.7 million was
supported by transfers made into the account; and $6.9 million was supported by
unexpended balances from FY 2023. The adopted school year 2023-2024 budget
by the Lakewood Township School District suggests that it may need an additional
State Aid advance this fiscal year."

Talk about Ponzi scheme that will come crashing down on our children, if not beforehand! And all you worry about is the same old stupid small town, junior leaguer politics. Lakewood is hefker and always was, from the days of the chicken farmers running the town, to the days on the sixth grade English dropouts. Just let all your decisions be made in secret by a bunch of cowardly chickens. You won't even have a town soon because payment of your debt will be more than all appropriations!
