A 4.8 magnitude earthquake was felt at 10:23 am. The epicenter was in Lebenon, NJ about an hour away from Lakewood. Buildings in Lakewood shook with cabinets shaking in people's home for about 5 seconds. Initial reports say it was 5.5 in the greater New York area. Thr quake was felt in Philadelphia and as far as New Hampshire and Pennsylvania and Connecticut.
The quake was felt in Brooklyn reports of shuls in Boro Park that shaking.
US Geological Survey figures indicate the quake might have been felt by a staggering 42 million people.
Earthquakes are less common on this side of the U.S. because the East Coast does not lie on a boundary of tectonic plates: Slabs of the Earth’s crust that slide past each other and build pressure when they get stuck.
The biggest quakes usually occur along the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, which extends through Iceland and the Atlantic Ocean. A plate boundary called the San Andreas Fault stretches through California.
But East Coast quakes can still pack a punch. Compared to the western U.S., East Coast rocks are better at spreading earthquake energy

ReplyDeleteSee Gemara Brachos daf 59b. It says that earthquakes happen when Hashem sees the tzaros that Klal Yisroel is in, two tears (k'vyachol) fall into the Yam HaGodol and cause reverberations (i.e. earthquake).

Cause actually the shocking date this earthquake happened on February 6 2023 is actually 2-6 which when you put it together you get 26 which is the numerical value of Hashem's name and when you put the year together of 2023 you get Directly from Hashem the Shocking 2 chapters in Tehillim referring to tragedies which is Chapter 20 & 23 which many of us say daily in davening Shachris. So we need to all start opening up our eyes and openly realize that every tiny thing happening anywhere in the world is actually a decree coming directly from Hashem and everything is actually a direct Ka-incidence.
