- Lakewood library staff say bedbugs were discovered in book drop off bins. The library will now be closed for cleaning.

- The Federal Reserve raised interest rates by three-quarters of a point on Wednesday. This is the second hike in a row of that size. The rate by 0.75 percentage point is an effort to cool the most intense inflation since the 1980s

- Rumors Lakewood Style Digital Billboards Coming To Jackson (Shore news network) after an online rumor spread claiming Jackson Mayor Michael Reina was in talks with an unspecified Lakewood-based digital marketing and billboard company.

- Meal Distribution at Tiferes Yechiel  1820 Old Freehold Rd in Toms River at  4:30 pm

Please note there's no mandated need to sign up or register for eligible meals. The requested paperwork at some locations is for the vendors to keep track of how much to order and how many meals were distributed.

-The planning board meeting last night was cancelled due to a lack of quorum as there was not enough board members for the meeting. The meeting has been rescheduled to August 2nd without notice of the applications.

- At least four Republicans are mulling a bid for the Assembly seat in the 12th district left vacant by the death of Ronald Dancer Jackson Council President Alex Sauickie III began calling party officials on Monday seeking support for Dancer’s seat, the New Jersey Globe has learned. Jackson Republicans are fractured and it’s not clear if a candidate from one of the other factions will emerge. (NJGlobe)

- Hospitalized patients in New Jersey who have tested positive for COVID have surpassed 1,000 again for the first time since February and most of the state is back to seeing high rates of transmission as a new mutation continues to spread quickly, data from the state Department of Health shows

    1. Young buyers are still being told bu agents to bid on prpoerties. The market has been cooling and no reason to keep on bidding and then be left holding the bag... Be smart used car inventory is building, housing is building. mortgage rates are going higher. If you have time dont rush to buy.

  3. I ordered box with an online form but never received. Has this been a common experience? Are the schools getting paid for my box?can I sign up for another one?

    2. Any idea what to do with white mushrooms and basmati rice why are they dumping random items that no one uses.

    4. White mushrooms should be peeled and checked and chopped into pieces the size of small sugar cubes.
      Sautee with onions (cover half of the frying pan, the mushrooms sometimes pop like popcorn) until you can smell them. Then fry an omelette over them, with shredded cheese. It is absolutely delicious

    5. Basmati rice is just rice. Cook it up with salt and black pepper and serve with a can of chickpeas. It's delicious.

  4. The boxes work like a fulfillment center there is a few big vendors who box it in a warehouse and truck it but the schools decide on the items don't blame the provider.

  10. Why doesn’t someone compete with OTL and make good useful boxes? They are clearly making a killing so it’s a good investment.
