- Superior Court Judge Joseph Paone on Friday scheduled the August court date and said it will either be  for Eisemann’s resentencing on money laundering and corruption charges or for a conference to discuss a new trial. Paone scheduled the court event after a long day of arguments from Eisemann’s attorney asking for a new trial for his client, countered by reasons put forth by a deputy attorney general why the defendant shouldn’t get one. Paone said he would decide within the next two weeks whether to grant Eisemann’s request. The judge reduced arguments of the value of the newly discovered evidence to this: “If there’s no evidence a loan was outstanding, then that enhances the suggestion by Janowski that there was a mistake. If there was a loan outstanding, that undermines her credibility.’’(APP)

Why is lakewood township paying for the non mandated public school kids bussing yet all the parents of non mandated kids in yeshiva and private school have to pay 180 dollars per child.
Is there a gov agency to contact

    1. I don't think there's anything wrong with a government agency or department giving benefits to public school children. They even give them free tuition!

    2. Yes, but this is something that is not mandated from the state and it seems like they are treating private/religious schools differently than public schools.
Almost like the recent Maine Supreme Court case

    3. The Maine case was when they gave funds to private schools they can't discriminate against religious ones. Nothing says they have to give private schools in the first place, even if what they're giving the public school is not mandated.

  6. After reading the agenda for the zoning board meeting, I have one request. Please stop issuing variances!!! Issuing variances is the source of much of the overcrowding in Lakewood. We can build without crowding. Please!!

  7. ALL CHILDREN both in public and private schools are entitled to bussing to school if they are eligible that is called mandated busing. Children who live less than 2 miles are not entitled but may get courtesy busing at a certain price including public school students. In Lakewood the Township is paying the BOE for the courtesy busing of public school students but yeshiva private school students have to pay 180 per child.

The Township has no right to sponsor courtesy buysng for some children and not for all children they are therefore discriminating against the Orthodox community which are the non public students.

This is exactly the argument Agudah made about security funding that the state was only paying for public school children and not private schools.

Why are the askanim ignoring this. It is costing parents HINDREDS every tear while public school non mandated kids get free courtesy busing paid for by Lakewood taxpayers.

    1. I'm guessing this is the only way they can have the lsta run the busing instead of the board of education. I think there may me an ulterior motive here that being who runs the busing routes.

    2. There are Jewish children that receive courtesy bussing covered by the Township. You can't say this is strictly against Jewish people.

  11. As a representative of the township we will definitely take your comment about variances into consideration but please understand we have families and our bills are paid when we approve these projects. If you offer a higher price we may honor your request and deny the variances but otherwise we have no choice.

  12. If The LSTA got extra funding for the private schools busing then why are they charging parents 180 yet the Township is fully funding the public school courtesy busing. The lsta is getting 1000 per student for mandated.

  13. To the honorable representative of the township you're not even ashamed to post the truth. How sad but if you're hired by the people for the people then you have a responsibility to the larger Lakewood population. If you can't do what needs to be done kindly step down and find another job.
