  1. Discrimination
Why is lakewood township paying for the non mandated public school kids bussing yet all the parents of non mandated kids in yeshiva and private school have to pay 180 dollars per child.
Is there a gov agency to contact

  2. The traffic on Central is horrendous every morning. Carrannetta has to be shut down with no cars exiting. It backs up traffic and cars have to wait 3 cycles of traffic signals just to cross the 9.

    1. It's not possible to close down Caranetta on Central. A large population of this town ignores signs in this town. For example, look at Sunset Grove exit on James Street. There's officially a no left turn sign and in the morning a very large amount of cars are blocking traffic to make left turns. People became very aggressive drivers because the fear of sitting in traffic longer than normal is affecting them. Lakewood became too crowded already and they are still more building coming.

    2. As a resident of Caranetta Dr., may I ask how you are able to close us in and make it difficult for us to get to Central Ave? Why only Caranetta Dr? Why not cut off all the streets off of Central and that would also decrease Central Ave. traffic? Oh, it would prevent people from getting to where they have to go? Well, you can't do that to us residents of Caranetta Dr. either.

    3. Do you see what goes on everyday as cars coming out of caranetta are blocking the entire central Ave as they attempt to cross over 2 lanes to make a left on the nine. It has become a shortcut for route 9 and cars are now coming from prospect st to sunset and down caranetta. If there's a way to restrict it only to residents that is an option but now it has become a thoroughfare.
The town could enforce a right turn only and not allow a left to the nine but no one listens and everyone becomes aggressive to block traffic until they get through to the turning lane.

  3. There should be oversight on the boxes. Last year at the public school they had moldy bread in them.
The olam should demand fresh food and not garbage that distributors are getting rid of. Ve vigilant and don't get taken advantage.

  4. To the last three comments

This town is run by unzere

Unfortunately this is what it looks like

The only language those in power understand is the threat or jail , loss of money or public attention being brought to whichever issue it may be

Unzere are usually not much good at the above and easily intimidated into silence

So the cycle will just continue

    An indictment of unzere

What do you think will happen when the committee members appoint "yes" men to the land use boards? Even when they're shown black on white blatant misrepresentations by an applicant developer, they still let him get away with it and destroy another neighborhood.

    2. Can anyone blame Jackson and other towns for wanting to keep the Jewish politics out then ? If this is how
unzere are going to be?Is it going to be different over there?

  5. It’s a real chutzpah to charge our families $180 per child who are paying tuition when the non mandated public school children get a free ride on top of their free tuition.
We are being taken advantage of!!
Hatorah choso al memonam shel yisroel!!
    Our askonim obviously aren’t.

  6. Agudah and the Vaad should be screaming about this injustice but they are all quiet protecting their LSTA and they get away with it. Why isn't Rabbi Schnall screaming on lakewood scoop videos of the discrimination against lakewood Orthodox Jews by the Boe and township forcing parents of non mandated kids to pay 180 while the public school kids are paid for with tax money.
Agudah was so busy calling out that private school children were not getting funded yet in Lakewood there is blatant discrimination against yeshiva students by the local government agencies.

    2. Whys isn't Rabbi Schnall screaming?
The same reason hes not screaming about the money for tuition that the state gave him to give out that so many families didnt get. How much was spent on PR rather than the children? How much of the money is unaccounted for?

    3. Agudah got good PR out of it without paying a penny they used a chunk of the money to advertise the program it was in every paper and billboards and in Yiddish. The ads were running even after the deadline to submit the forms.
Now that is how you buy off the media and get future good reporting.

    4. Has anyone made an OPRA request for info on the funds?

  7. Kinda stupid how the Boe pretends that they are giving the boxes taking credit for it with the Lakewood poop propoganda machine breaking first reports and exclusive stories about the food boxes that were already public info for a while and ignoring the fact that there are other locations and distributions from other schools.
Makes you wonder why are they only pushing one provider and disregarding that this is a federal program and lots of other vendors.

  10. Which gov body will hold the Township accountable for discriminating against non mandated private school students who are 99.9% Orthodox Jews.
If they pay for the public school they must do the same for the private.
Email Agudah and the Boe for an explanation.
All private school parents who pay 180 per child should get together and demand an answer and reimbursement from the Township tax dollars.

  11. Why is the Township giving municipal tax money to the Boe do they have a surplus of cash that they took from the taxpayers if yes let them pay for the non mandated private schools too.

  12. Ask the mayor, can someone submit this

    Dear Mayor Coles,

Thank-you for everything you do for Lakewood you are great wonderful mayor

Why are non mandated yeshiva kids in private schools forced to pay $180 for transportation to the LSTA but the public school non mandated students have it paid for by the township. Isn't that discriminatory?

    Thank you

  13. There are a few signs in NJ that say Shoulder may be used for driving from 6AM to 10 AM.
    That would make sense.
Also perhaps Caranetta can be made a one way from River Ave for one block. I believe in the old days thats how it was.
Also there are many times a day that traffic is blocked on Central while the 9 is flowing nicely.
Thats a missed opportunity to control traffic.
Good Luck to those who have helped traffic flow smoother in the past.
