DeleteVery strange, I advertised a few apt, for rent in a place outside of the tchum Shabboss of any shul. One of the applicants who I though was goy (only spoke on the phone) was actually a yid, and a big meyuchas, but he keeps nothing. At one point I asked him if he was ever in Yeshiva. he answered yes, & said which yeshiva & Rosh Y. I asked wasn't that the Rosh Y that R'Shach Z"L took down he said yes.{i don't remamber the exact nusach, but from what I do remember either R' Shach himself went in there to denounce the Rosh Yeshiva or he sent others., there was no beisdin as i recollect, 36-37 years ago.
ReplyDeleteHe went on to say R' Shach did it a few years too late. The yeshiva wasn't for mainstream US bochurim, & he needed a respite so he worked a few hours a day in the office. He left his sweater behind,as it got cold by night he went back to the office to pick-up his sweater, lo & behold the Rosh was on the couch with a bochur, "kemichol, bshfuferes. he through theoffice keys at the Rosh yeshiva & said I am going to bed, he went to his room and packed his suitcase lay on his bed a sleepless night, went to shachris, told the mashgiach, who believed him. packed his bags, went home & has never opened a safer ever since. A year later the abused bochur committed suicide. Most of the other bochurim of that class, lost their emuna, & left the fold.
He said I have a question for Hashem, why is it that Ros Y has a family 11 kids,(only one doesn't speak to him) grandkids, parnosoetc, & I am divorced single lonely childless, no money, friends, house, job. ill (heart attacks & cancer), how do you expect me to believe in Hashem, when the one teaching me Torah was doing the worst sins. (BTW, speaking with his brother, the family suspects he was more just than a witness), yet he is missing nothing & the victims are in his shape.
I am not qualified to answer that, I can't justify what happened to him, I can't justify why the perp has a much better (not perfect, no one is meyached with him ad hayoim) than the victims.
What I do see is this yid is dying over & over every day, his old mother who lost a child in her life, beside the living dead son, is living in pain every day, his brothers are living his pain too.
When Rabonim & askonim get up & say loshon Hora, we are not allowed d to speak etc, they are killing all these victims over & over again. Not just the victims of the current era menuval, but all those who suffered the powerful & clergy of our midst who are still living. Listen R' Meiselman, Zimmerman, Berkowitz, & Yarchi whoare voices of reason.

I'm not even sure if I understand the question. Because someone who teaches Torah secretly acts in a despicable manner that causes questions about Torah M'Sinai. Why? Does the Torah say otherwise anywhere? Does the Torah not make reference to Talmedey Chachomim who were Resoyim? Say the pope was caught involved in major bad behavior. I would not expect all Catholics to abandon their religion because of that. The response would be "the pope is a jerk let's find someone other person to take his place"

DeleteImagine someone comes to the next world and is asked why he didn't keep Torah and Mitzos. He answers because I saw a Rosh Yeshiva do a terrible aveira. Are they going to accept that answer? Even if they do will they give his schar for the mitvos that he didn't do? Yet in the online world that post makes total sense and is a totally acceptable attitude.
