  1. Wow!

What's going on with this committee? Every other day we find out how they quietly take for themselves some from here and some more from there.. Why are they treating our tax dollars like their private piggy bank? They're already eligible to receive a government pension plan after retiring. Now they want to take even more for themselves and force us to foot the bill for their cadillac insurance plan until 120?!

I wonder why the committeemen settled for 20 years and not 30 years? Is it because they're itching to make themselves eligible now already??

    1. They know they will be voted out soon and won't go too long after 20 years.

  2. Health insurance for life? Isn't that what Harold H. Said why Mike D'Elia was on the committee just for some free health insurance? Now we know why they are all on the committee and won't leave - free health insurance!

    1. Mayor Ray Coles assumed membership on the Committee on Jan 1, 2002.
Committeemen Miller & Lichtenstein assumed political office on Jan 1, 2004.

These 3 individuals will qualify for this perk very quickly.

Committeemen Akerman and D'Elia began their political careers in 2011 and 2015, respectively. These last 2 individuals a few more terms to qualify.

    2. Some of the committeemen are still young. If we're forced to pay their insurance bills until they're 120 years old, we will be paying out for each of them for another 70+ YEARS! That's besides taking care of whichever 5 committeemen are also serving at that time. Insurance isn't getting cheaper either..

Who came up with this ordinance? It's just totally nuts!!

  3. This petition to widen Kennedy Blvd and add side walks makes zero sense.

Our land use boards posses great wisdom. They would never have approved the development of the Brookhill neighborhood if they didn't make sure that the proper infrastructure was in place.

The residents signing the petition are dreaming. They need to wake up to appreciate the wisdom of the Board that gave the developer whatever he asked for because it really does make sense.

    1. This is the first I hear the Board being blamed for having "wisdom".

      When did this development happen?

    2. Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not. But, they really are smarter than the rest of us. They got the position and not us. They voted themselves our money. They obviously know what they're doing, more than the rest of us.

    3. Our land use board approved the development of the Brookhill neighborhood with parking on both sides of the street, We already successfully petitioned to make brookhill one sided parking only.

  5. What a chutzpah from the committee to help themselves with OUR tax dollars. Meir and Menashe how do you guys have no shame to do this?

  6. I beg all of the commenters here. Please, please, find someone else to run next year for the township committee. Find someone who isn't looking to fight or make a stink, someone with a track record of helping others. We need to remove this stain from our community. It is an embarrassment to all of us that we allowed this to happen for twenty years, without actually doing anything.
If you know a person, for example in your Shul. The person who when he sees something that needs to be done, he gets up and does it without fanfare. The guy who doesn't demand 'hakaras hatov', and sees projects through to completion. Persuade him to run for office, we need such people.

  9. Usually, companies pay people the least that they have to. If candidate A will do the job for $50,000 and candidate B will do it for $40,000, they will choose the cheaper one.
Will anyone do the job of township committee member without lifetime health insurance? If yes, why pay more?

Edicts like the one that was signed in today in New Jersey erases the entitlement for State existence. That is even though it was already essentially defacto for some years for some years as is what gives an estate the right to exist.
NJ and similar entities have been in precipitous decline for several years now
This shall hasten the Spiral downward as could be expected

Part of the audience here, though, deserves considerable credit for Attempting to limit the damage electorally this past November!

  11. The abortion bill was a compromise. At first they wanted a bill to force insurers to cover all abortions. Now all it does is enshrine Roe v Wade in NJ law. It doesn't actually do anything.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Roe v Wade will be overturned. This will overturn the overturn in NJ.

      Delete
    2. Even if Roe v Wade will get overturned at the Supreme Court, the decision will have no effect in NJ, because unfortunately this has now become statutory law.

      Delete
    3. The Republicans will never allow Roe v Wade to be overturned. They are the ones that have the most abortions.

      Delete
    4. No, that's the purpose. If roe vs wade is overturned, then it's up to the state's.

      Delete
  12. Should we be worried about other crazy news coming out tomorrow about the Committee?? We really need a break between scandals.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Roe vs wade allowed the federal governemetn to dictate to states that abortion is legal.
If Roe gets overturned, the states will be able to allow or ban abortion. So in liberal states abortion will be legal as the state house will legalise it. The supreme court has no bearing on NJ passing abortion "rights".
