brining roads since Thursday in preparation for the storm and have 200 vehicles ready to go.
- Murphy tweets about the storm after being silent for the last 24 hours. "In preparation for the upcoming winter storm, I’m declaring a STATE OF EMERGENCY beginning at 5:00 PM today. We urge all New Jerseyans to stay off the roads, stay updated, and stay safe. We’re concerned with the potential for high winds to bring down power lines. If you lose power, report it immediately. If you see a downed power line, stay clear of it and call it in. Charge your devices".
- Due to potential power outages it is advisable to keep the blech on with a stove top fire. As for the Eruv check with your LOR.

If you have a blech make sure there is no carbon monoxide keep one fire it on a low flame blech should be open from 3 sides

ReplyDeleteSome parts of Lakewood always lose power in a storm, with high winds expected there is a good chance that trees will fall on electric wires and power will go out.
DeleteVery low flame can cause carbon monoxide as fire doesn’t consume all gas. Fire department told me this when I had an alarm go off on Rosh Hashana.
ReplyDeleteYour Eruv will probably be possul by the morning. Be careful to bring your Tallis to shul before Shabbos, and don't carry during the day.

ReplyDeleteI am not sure if that's halachically correct. Can't we rely on a chazaka that the eruv is still up? (Ask your local closed-orthodox rabbi).
