  1. Lakewood Township, has approximately 6000 homes that are characterized as senior development and therefore do not pay property taxes that include the school budget. I would love to know what the real property tax number is for Lakewood residents that do not get the senior discounts? I would guess that the average homeowners paying $11,000 taxes

    1. i don't think this statement is correct. i'm pretty sure senior developments still have to pay school taxes.

  2. What a chutzpah! Why are Lakewood’s committeemen giving themselves full time salaries for a part time job?

Howell is just now capping the committee salaries at a whipping maximum of only 12K, while our lovely politicians are taking 6 to 7 times that amount.

Plus, they added other expensive bonuses to their overall compensation packages, like the free lifetime health insurance and tripling their MUA salaries.

Basically, they’re telling me to work hard and pay them high property taxes so they can cut themselves big checks on my account.

    Throw the bums out!

    1. Howell should learn from Lakewood politicians how to double and triple dip by creating boards and sitting on them taking more salaries and free health insurance MM is on the township committee gets paid more for deputy mayor sits on the Ocean county MUA is head of Lakewood chamber of commerce, Chemed, wife is on Lakewood MUA ML is on Lakewood MUA Bob Singer and Ray Coles on MUA

Not bad for part time jobs while raising rates and taxes on the poor and elderly

    2. The committeemen must be so embarrassed that they got caught when the residents found their hands triple-dipping (or is it more?) in the taxpayer cookie jar.

  3. Attention Weather People:
A storm is a STORM. Every time there is a snowfall does not constitute a storm. (Or a crisis for that matter.)
