      *ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAKEWOOD, COUNTY OF OCEAN, STATE OF NEW JERSEY, AMENDING CHAPTER II, OF THE REVISED GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LAKEWOOD, 1999, ENTITLED “ADMINISTRATION” SECTION 2-47.8 Entitled “COMPENSATION”*

      BE IT ORDAINED, by the Township Committee of the Township of Lakewood, State of New Jersey as follows:

      SECTION 1. Chapter II, Of The Revised General Ordinances Of The Township Of Lakewood, 1999, Entitled “Administration” Is Hereby Amended In Section § 2-47.8 Entitled “Compensation”:

      § 2-47.8 Compensation.

      Members of the Municipal Utilities Authority shall receive a raise in their compensation for the performance of their duties commencing February 1, 2022, as follows:

      a. Chairman - $15,000.00 annual salary. [was previously $5,000]
      b. All other members - $15,000.00 annual salary. [was previously $5,000]

      These salaries are to be paid from the fees collected by the Municipal Utilities Authority.

      Status: The Committee voted on the first reading at the January 3rd reorganization meeting. The second reading where public comment is allowed is scheduled for this Thursday, January 13 and begins at 5:30 pm.

      Unlike the planning/zoning boards, the Committee’s public meetings are not live and are only conducted remotely.

      However, the public is invited to participate prior to the meeting by emailing premeetingcomments@lakewoodnj.gov . The public can also participate during the meeting via comments@lakewoodnj.gov .

      The public is also welcome to participate using Cisco’s Web-Ex by either phone (audio only) or computer (audio/visual). The Meeting ID# will be released 48 hours prior to the meeting. If choosing to call in, the phone number is (408) 418-9388. The Meeting ID#/Password will be released 48 hours prior to the meeting.

      All participants will be muted upon entry to the meeting but may participate by using the *3 key if participating by phone to raise your hand or by clicking the appropriate “Web-Ex” video button to be recognized via computer.
