  1. Reb Levi Yitzchok is the legendary 'Belzer' of Lakewood, the one who founded the Bais Hatavshil and Hachnosas Orchim of Lakewood with his friend Reb Mordechai Schwartz.
He is one of the major askonim in town, who has helped countless people in his quiet manner, and has not built a career out of it.
May he be comforted from his loss ומחה ה' דמעה מעל כל פנים

    1. Too late. He voted for Obama's cap and trade, and he was called out on it then. At that point I didn't want to vote for him anymore, but we needed as many Republicans as possible to stop Obama, so I kept voting for him. But now he's shown that he doesn't learn. He will continue to vote for the progressive agenda. (I think that its probably because tucked into these large bills are some "gifts" for our local "askanim".)
Either way he lost my vote (and my wife's and daughter's) going forward.

    2. You have to be both dumb and insane not to vote for Smith. He's the senior most and most responsive congressman of all, and you want to lose that for a backbencher who just wants attention?

    3. He helped us get a rushed passport during Corona. He got the job done and has my family's support.

  3. I don't know Chris Smith at all, but we should be more careful with our votes.
Trump wants to be president without the responsibilities of president. We should not allow him to do so. If he wins an election, that is one thing. But the idea that he should be the king maker, and should be able to stop bi-partisan cooperation, is just not in our interest.
Vote for him as president, by all means. He is good for us. But not when he is not president.

Btw, bipartisanship is a good thing. I don't know how it got its bad rap. The infrastructure bill is great for this country.

  4. Chris Smith lost my vote by Cap and Trade and he proved it with voting for the Biden bill, that does nothing locally.

  5. I don’t think the infrastructure deal was a good idea. What did we get from Obama’s 887 billion dollars spent on infrastructure? Even so that alone is not a reason to vote against Smith. And Trump telling us not to vote for him is actually a reason why we SHOULD vote for him. I voted in Trump in 2020 but don’t want a situation where every Republican need his endorsement to win. If Trump was promoting some candidate and giving us a reason why he would be better for us that is one thing. But this is basically telling us not to vote for Smith because “I said so”

    2. Smith voted for Obama care. Smith voted for the infrastructure bill, Cap and trade... He represents us in Trump republican county. He lost my vote. Primary him and goodbye. Especially now with the new voting map, Toms River joined our district. We turned more conservative.

    3. No, that is not what it is, the infrastructure was full of pork and very little infrastructure. If the Dems cared about infrastructure, they would have gotten behind Trumps $2 trillion infrastructure bill that was actual infrastructure

The "infrastructure" bill only has $110 Billion for bridges and roads with much of it earmarked for political payback

$66 Billion for railways, which are primarily used by highly profitable freight operators (political payback to Warren Buffet). they are also beneficiaries of the stoppage of oil and gas pipelines which now have to travel by rail.

$65 billion for updating power lines, and security of the power grid, again, supporting profitable private companies who are regulated monopolies, that should be required to fund their own upgrades.

$65 billion to expand broadband for rural and low income areas. This is a windfall for telco and cable operators. It can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to lay cable to a single rural residence, and their is massive innovation and improvement happening with far more efficient satellite and 5G.

Not to mention that cable companies are supposed to be regulated, and their price increases are supposed to be capped, yet optimum has more than doubled their fees over the last 5 years. how about doing the regulating job they were supposed to so cable would be affordable to everyone

$50+ billion for cybersecurity and climate change, not even going to attempt to rationalize where all this money is going

$39 billion for public transit - again rewarding poorly managed municipally run public transportation. The Varrazzano bridge alone brings in $500 million in tolls annually, where is all the money going?

      $21 billion for the environment - ????

$17 billion for ports - Ports make a lot of money for private companies, they should not require government money

      $11 billion for safety - ????

$7.5 bill for electric vehicle charging stations - Which the owner of Tesla says is not needed and is a waste.

This is not like the stimulus bills which were broadly spent and a lifeline to many during the shut down. this is a bill full of pork for political paybacks. If Chris Smith was going to vote for it, the least he could have done was to bring some of it back to his district

$55 Billion for water. Where exactly is this money going? Based on my water bill the water company doesn't need any additional funding, so this is going to go to poorly managed Dem municipal owned water utilities to reward them for their horrible management

    4. Ditto. Chris Smith did nothing for his district he is part of the swamp and the time has come to vote him out.
He has done nice work on antisemitism but locally he ignored those who voted for him.

  7. YWN has three posts on walder about his books being banned and him being summoned to beis din

How come not a word about his death or levaya?

    Answer:

    Because he didn't die

Walder is a creative genius. Like I just posted, he faked his death, ran away and will continue writing books from his hideout under a different name and continue to rake it in
