    1. No $urprise from the bad apples vaad. Its all about the almighty dollar for a select few askanim who abuse the naive voting bloc for financial gain, religion and Jewish Torah values means nothing. Lakewood residents will vote their conscious despite the feckless vaad endorsement of covid nursing home deaths phil murphy

    2. They must have gotten some good promises they play up the opposition to put pressure and squeeze the incumbent

    3. The word you're looking for is conscience, not conscious, to anon 10:20, though some vote like they are unconscious or even worse, posessed!

    4. When it comes to his opposition to coronavirus mandates, Jack Ciattarelli, the Republican nominee for governor, insists he's no clone of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a leader of the anti-mandate resistance in the GOP.

"I never hear [DeSantis] warning people about how deadly this virus is. I think it's careless to just say, 'Go about your lives.' I've never said that,'' Ciattarelli said in an interview this month with the USA TODAY Network New Jersey Editorial Board.

  5. VAAD Endorsed Corzine too.So what?

as with early reform their Judaism stops with their synagogue and the kitchen

The problem is that we Jews have lost sensitivities and more likely to follow

  6. All major candidates candidates make these statements because they are aware this is what our communities primarily about..
" continue to stand against anti-Semitism in our state and with the people of Israel. New Jersey and America have a very important relationship with our sister nation, Israel, and my administration will be fully committed to our mutual success. "

If we would care about other things it would be on the agenda as much....

  7. Vaad endorsed Corzine and the olam feifed un and voted for Christie who won. Now Murphy is ahead in the polls. שב ועל תעשה עדיף

    1. Corzine was also ahead in the polls.
The only difference if there is one there was a third party Conservative candidate who is supporters Switched at the last moment

Next election the same crowd pretended they all were Christie's forever best friends without any irony

  8. This bears a yearly announcement.

A politician is like a plumber. Choose the one that does the job for you. It isn't a shita, it isn't an ideology. If you are a fetus, by all means vote for the one who will protect you. If you are not a fetus, don't get involved in that issue (Btw, the Republican candidate is not anti-abortion anyway, so this issue is moot). If you are a senior in a nursing home, or have a senior parent, and you think that Murphy will make a mistake in the future regarding senior citizens, don't vote for him.
But the main thing is, VOTE YOUR INTERESTS, not the shita, not some phony 'da'as Torah' and not for some ideology.

    1. You sound like a fool by not even acknowledging their is a strong tzad that disagrees with you. But please explain what good Murphy has done or will do. It is all about money with him what did he do for the average Lakewood resident. And according to your logic there was no need to bring the mabul since who cares about ideology of hashchasa anyhow.

      Delete
    2. Anon 12:56 - I did not say to vote Murphy. You are placing words in my mouth.

The Mabul is totally irrelevant to this. Hashem brought the Mabul, for His reasons. He also told us to keep the Torah, not to invent new Mitzvos.

And in this case, neither candidate has any claim on 'morality'. Both do not keep the Torah and neither care for the opinions of the Tanna'im and Amora'im. Voting one side won't bring the Mabul, and voting the other side won't stop the Mabul.
Just like choosing Mechanic A over Mechanic B won't stop or bring a Mabul.

If you want to stop a Mabul, teach people the correct way to act. Be Mekarev Yidden to Torah, and teach Goyim the Sheva Mitzvos. Or don't. Because we have no achrayus to teach Goyim the Sheva Mitzvos.

But voting any party has nothing to do with anything.

    3. Rabbi Avigdor Miller zt'l and Rav Simcha Bunim Cohen shlit'a hold otherwise. One may not vote Democrat. PERIOD.

      Delete
    4. So wrong you are. Murphy has worse poll numbers than Corzine did! There's good reason that both candidates are coming to Lakewood. Lakewood is ground zero in this election. Every single vote here can literally swing the election. Don't lose sight of the goal - a better future for us all!

      Delete
    5. Sure! A better future! Like Christies brought us. Petty revenge, government attacks on our community, and less services.

A better future for us all is to stop the ideologues in their tracks. Don't vote another Republican until they come with a practical manifesto. No more ideology, no whining about other countries, just a plan for US, which will help US.

      Delete
    6. Christie was a vindictive overweight piece of trash. He doesn't represent any Yidden. What's crazy is that he wants to run for President again in '24. Well that's a bridge(gate) too far.

  9. Just like many people are anti vaccine one may also be anti voting.

  10. We all owe Murphy a debt of gratittude. Even at the height of the pandemic, when he had the option to act like a total dictator, he allowed mosdos to operate bsically unmolested ( while in ny Cuomo harassed everyone). He was willing to moderate at one point and become pragmatic about lockdowns and took a more relaxed posture when he realized "measures" don't do much to stop a virus.

What the Vaad said is irrelavant in either case; Murphy deserved our vote.

As far as OBCF , I hope that the Vaad worked something out. In the meantime not Murphy nor Ciatarelli has promised anything.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Ciaterelli did say he would do justice by OBCF. It was written up in The Shopper right around Rosh Hashana time. Murphy... crickets.

      Delete
    2. If indeed Citarelli expressed concern about OBCF (which Murphy has not) than the Vaad is trangressing לא תעמוד על דם רעיך ans should be ignored completely. This should be the central (and only) issue for every single person in this election.

      Delete
    3. More like he realized if he wants a chance of winning the Jewish vote stay out of things.
Once he wins he'll do all the things he held back.
I how I'm wrong but doubt it.

      Delete
    4. Murphy could have already ended the witch hunt against OBCF if he wanted to. To use the case as a bargaining chip for reelection is disgusting and low. Do the right thing now. That's how you earn my vote.

      Delete
    5. so we should vote for Murphy bec he could have been worse...

      Wow.

How about vote Republican & our lives can get back to normal once again.

Murphy leads the state with terrible pandemic #s, terrible jobs #s, & terrible taxes.

      What good has he done?

      Delete
    6. I remember that Shopper interview. Ciaterelli didn't promise anything. He's pro abortion & pro Hashchasa--and he's 10 points down. So all that's left is to pointlessly anger the man who *can* pardon OBCF, and who *can* make it hard for Yeshivas & Shuls to function.

      How smart is that?

      Delete
    7. Remember how Christie won....
      Be careful.
      Cover all your bases!

  11. "A politician is like a plumber"

go try that on Alta Fixler's parents or on some kid forced to attend class on transgender.

A more Accurate comparison for the politician would be an elected
    judge

or are you of those probably who prefer corrupt justice system as long as you can bribe under the table more than the next guy

    1. The only thing that will get me to vote for Murphy is if when he comes to Lakewood he says he'll leave the mosdos alone for any more mandates. Enough is enough. Just to get an endorsement on the past without pledges for the future isn't good enough in this day and age.

  16. Ciaterelli .. pro abortion & pro-

    Well that's our responsibility

they say what they believe you people consider to be of massive importance !

    they will be pro-israel
    they will be anti lockdown
because that's what you consider important
it's up to you and your representatives.. Obviously
let's inform him that we do consider taking stands on value to be of utmost importance. Besides that on top of the fact it happens to be a sanctification of Heaven's name but that's too much
