The zechus of the Torah will protect them from being sent to jail. No need to hire lawyers.
ReplyDeleteדורון תפילה ומלחמה
DeleteOver the years there were many Gedolim that ended up in jail. Maram M'Rotenberg, Skulene Rebbe, and others. So to say that the Zechus HaTorah will protect them, doesn't mean they can't end up imprisoned. We all need to Daven and do all we can to hopefully avoid this outcome.
DeleteAll of the Lubavitcher Rebbes spent time in jail. Providing more entertainment for their Chassidim in future generations.
DeleteÀny info when/where Satmar event at stadium today?
ReplyDeleteCan someone explain the Satmar/Chaf Alef Kislev event in simple terms? To me it seems like a typical cult. Nobody in Satmar today has any connection to the rescue of R' Yoelish. It was his personal miracle so of course it was appropriate for him to celebrate during his lifetime. But for thousands of people - eighty years later - celebrating the rescue of a dead person, does not seem like a Jewish concept. Only Chazal had such a Koach to institute a special day Zecher L'nes.
ReplyDeleteStupid is incurable
DeleteBMG still commemorated the Yartzeit of Reb Aharon z"l.
DeleteApply that to pretty much every event nowadays?
Delete1. This 'only Chazal' business is not held up by Halacha. See the poskim at the end of Hilchos Purim.
Delete2. This Satmar event is a fundraiser.
3. Even if it was wrong, it has nothing to do with a cult.
4. This is their way of strengthening their 'shita'. I don't subscribe to it, but that is their method.
It's traditionally an excuse for a big fundraiser.
DeleteThis proves the point. There is nothing wrong with commemorating a Yahrtzeit. Chaf Alef Kislev ain't no Yahrtzeit though. Now imagine a yearly event in BMG celebrating Reb Aharon's escape from Lita! There's no rational explanation for it.
DeleteWhat the poskim discuss at the end of Hilchos Purim has to do with a person’s personal Neis, and their family for future generations. As far as I know, R Yoel from Satmar is no longer alive and has no living descendants. Hence the first post, which likens this phenomenon to a cult. And to use this event to “strengthen their Shita”, is precisely the issue.
Delete6:14 - They raised up to 50 million dollars!! Do I need to s'plain it any more??
DeleteSo basically you're saying you have issue with his shita getting strengthened.
DeleteYou are not a communist dictator yet so they can as they want
& political
DeleteGot to have Chucky S. there
It's a fundraiser event similar to a dinner for their mosdos in Williamsburg. The date is Yom hatzalah of their rebbe that founded the mosdos, and was like a father to the immigrants, in post war America. It was celebrated as a seudas hodaah, eventually, as a fundraiser, in the merit, of if not for this day, - אי לאו האי יומא כמה יוסף איכא בשוקא, ther would've been plenty fellows who be like typical immigrants. Their rebbe instilled in them of his Torah and yiras shamayim, the way he had it in pre war Europe.
DeleteYou're rather ignorant to what R Yoelish was.... He was more than a father to each and every single one of his followers, he worried about them found them jobs Borrowed money for them when they needed it and he either paid it back on his own or was a guaranteer on the loan. He helped them out marrying off their children helped them out when they were sick..... The least you can expect is that they consider his salvation their own.
Delete7:30,
DeleteThe trajectory of Judaism is what he probably cares for. That is bound to affect all of us
We need to learn from Satmar

Too much chanifa butter & mafia connections involved to make that worthwhile.
DeleteI do not remember who it was (perhaps someone can tell us) but back in the day, there was a rosh yeshiva who was arrested for hanging up pashkevilin saying giyus banos is yeharog vaal yavor. It took serious lobbying and pressure from jews in america to make sure he didn't end up in jail.
