- UPS reportedly may terminate a driver after a video was posted online of a truck accidentally knocking down a garbage can in Lakewood, the company was tagged on social media alerting them of the accident asking if they will pay $50 for the damaged can, Lakewood Mayor chimed in that the township will cover the cost of the can. Well, the publicity of the video went too far and the driver now faces termination.

- Jackson Developers propose building three private schools, serving nearly 1,500 Orthodox Jewish children. Lees Village LLC is seeking planning board approval to construct two two-story elementary schools and a two-story high school on a 13-acre Leesville Road parcel, near the intersection with West Veterans Highway, not far from the municipal building. The two elementary schools would each serve about 600 students across 20 classrooms, according to plans submitted to the township. The high school would cater to 255 students in 20 classrooms. (APP)

DeleteSeriously that's why not every stupid incident needs to be made public. You try driving through our streets every day.mistakes happen. My cans get damaged from garbage trucks themselves but not everything needs to go social and be made into a big deal. He won't be terminated, but it was an unnecessary overblown incident. Especially since someone on lakewood scoop offered to pay for it and said not to make a big deal. He/she was right. This is a chilul Hashem. Especially since this was known as a dedicated driver who now has his reputation ruined. Think before you run to social. It is galus not everything needs to be made into a huge case!

ReplyDeleteWell if we still want to have uos drivers, deliveries, and bus drivers we need to move away from this public tattle tale mentality. As is lakewood traffic makes it one of the hardest towns to work in. By doing this we are chasing away the few that still want to work here....not everything is $ and news. Think ahead! Think of effects. Calm down all and report true emergencies to the right headquarters.

ReplyDeleteWith Rav Shaul in town, you could sense an almost yom tov, or Chanuka type, spirit. Where else do you find a person with so much emotion, so much anivus, and so much Torah? For example, he said, that he thanks Hashem that he wasn't born twenty years later because otherwise maybe he would have been a victim of the internet. Boruch Hashem, he said, by the time internet came out he was older and had a shteler in Torah already so he didn't have a yetzer hara for it at that point. Wow.
