  1. Why are the committee members voting to approve ordinance 2021-058 to vacate another 3 paper streets in town. Is is to benefit a connected private developer on Burnside Avenue?

  3. Yat Kislev is considered by a tiny amount of Chassidim as the 'Rosh Hashana of Chassidus'. One Rebbe, 120 years ago, suggested בדרך אפשר that it should be considered so. Nothing more.
    Don't fall for propaganda.

    1. you obviously don't know history. Historically in that time the Bal Hatnaya was the leader and head of chassduis in Russia. The Maggid appointed R' Menachem Mendel of Vitebsk as his successor. He left and went to Ertz Yisrael and appointed the Bal Hatnya as the leader of Chassdus in Russia at the time. His arrest was an attack on the entire chassidus. Not just one branch. Yes their was oppistion from the talmidi hamagid how the Alter Rebbe when avout spreading chassdus but as for the Mesorah he was the leader at that time. An attack on him was an attack on anyone who had a connection with the Bal Shem Tov. Go learn the story of all the debates that happened at that time. They attacked him as the leader of chassidus. Rosh Hashana of Chassidus is because limayla there was a breakthrough on the permission to spread chassidus.

    2. You obviously don't know history. The first one to suggest that Yud Tes Kislev is Rosh Hashana Lechassidus was Rashab in his famous letter. Read introduction to Kuntres Umaayan. Read there that the Malach was not happy with it.

    3. Anon 9:44 - your diatribe was touching, but irrelevant.
The words ראש השנה לחסידות were not mentioned until the Rashab. And even then it was בדרך אפשר.
PR took care of the rest.

    3. The issue is that there is no B'D that can be trusted. A community funded B'D should be formed and opened.

    4. Why would some random agenda-based website make a safek in your eyes? Recognized Talmidei Chachamim are on both the Beis Hava'ad and Meysharim BD. Who is claiming that they did something wrong?
A thinking person does not have a safek here.

    5. Why would he run to B'D if not to clear his name? I give him credit for not going directly to arkayos!

    6. If he went to a bona-fide Beis Din, he would deserve credit. By going to a fake phoney Beis Din, a stationery Beis Din, a Beis Din made up of ספרא דדיינאs, he has not deserved any credit

    8. Knopfler has been denounced by the local Rabbanim shlita. He is totally unpredictable and unreliable. Nonetheless, even a broken clock gets it right twice a day. Additionally, if R' Dovi was involved and the Bais Hvadd handled the GET where/who else should the poor fellow go to.

  6. After satmar rebbe was saved on chaf aleph he founded satmar and proclaimed that Toras hachasidus was forgotten. So it’s only around for 1 day

  9. Lubavitch proclaimed 19 Kislev ראש השנה לחסידות because after the Alter was released from jail he began a campaign to spread chassidus which eventually spread to large parts of Europe. BTW this was greatly assisted by the Russian government attempting to break the kehilla stronghold on Yiddishkeit by allowing anyone to open a shul that previously they weren't allowed to. This (along with chassidus knocking the kehilla structure) was also instrumental in the spread of haskalla 50 years later.
Then in the 1950's the Satmar Rav, realizing that Chassidus had run it's course and wasn't as relevant as it originally was, came out with the שיטה of נשתכחה תורת הבעש"ט. Satmar celebrates כא כסלו as יום ההצלה the day he was rescued from the Nazis, hence the above quip.
