Tuesday November 23 News Updates Lakewood

- Murphy leaves N.J. to celebrate Thanksgiving with family in Florida 

- Minyan Avreichim building finally going up on the corner of 10th street and  Clifton ave after sitting empty for years. Construction began in 2016 but was halted after some issues arose. The minyan is from the oldest heimish minyanim in the heart of Lakewood. For years it was housed in the Lakewood cheder building as a shabbos minyan. Many of the Rabbonim across Lakewood today were former mispalelim in this mikdash me'at. 

- Chabad י''ט כסלו event Rabbi Shais Taub will speak tonight at Bnos Devorah 360 Oak Street Lakewood  8:00pm for Ladies and 930 for Men.

- A 65-year-old woman identified as Mrs. Francisca Lebron  was struck and killed on Route 9  and 4th st in Lakewood last night she was intoxicated and standing in middle of the road. Misaskim services were not needed. 

- Trump slams planned release of 50M barrels of oil from the country’s strategic reserves, says the reserves “are meant to be used for serious emergencies, like war, and nothing else."

- Lakewood planning board meeting tonight 6:00 pm at town hall Hatzolah application for  a new medical facility on Halsey Street in the Oak and Vine neighborhood

  - BDE: Petirah of Rav Shmaryahu Shulman zt”l. He lived in Kew Gardens Hills, Queens, for about sixty years before he relocated to Lakewood, NJ some years ago and settled at the Lakewood Courtyard  he published many seforim, including Be’er Sarim, Shomer Hapesach, Shomer Mitzvah, Sukas Shalem, Meirish Babirah, and Kanfei Hanesher.
Rav Shulman first learned at Yeshiva Torah Vodaas and was one of the early talmidim of Yeshivas Ner Yisroel under Rav Yaakov Yitzchok Ruderman and at Bais Medrash Govoah in Lakewood, NJ under Rav Aharon Kotler.  Levaya will take place today Levaya scheduled for 2PM Tuesday, Weinstein chapel, Brooklyn, NY, then to EY for kevurah at Eretz Hachaim cemetery.
