- Last night the planning board did not vote on the cedarbridge ordinance to grant 35 year tax abatements for properties off Pine street after the secretary said the Township committee asked them to table it However the same ordnance is up for 2nd reading tomorrow night at the township meeting and has not been removed yet from the agenda. The township voted on the first reading and are expected to pass it
- Mishkan Yosef purim project said the prize pick up scheduled for today at Gourmet Glatt south plaza has been canceled due to overwhelming crowds. They are working on a more suitable location over the coming days.
On the agenda for tomorrow's township meeting
- An ordinance granting a 5 year tax abatement to the new building of The Voice of Lakewood located at 235 River avenue
- 2 traffic signals will be installed on Route 9. One at the intersection of Oak street and another at the intersection of Broadway and Chateau drive. The township resolution authorizes a agreement with the state.
Accepting a bid for the public land sale behind the Highpoint condominiums at Massachusetts and Prospect street on behalf of Lenox Group, L.L.C., c/o Adam Pfeffer, Esq., 2110 West County Line Road, Suite 2, Jackson, New Jersey, that offered the highest winning bid in the amount of $9,900,000.00 and has made a satisfactory deposit of at least ten (10%) of its highest winning bid in the amount of $1,370,000.00
- 35 year tax abatement for properties off Pine street with cedarbridge amendment
- A cap bank to increase the 2022 budget by 3.5 %, amounting to $3,002,034.68,
Pesach shopping:
- Price of Large dozen eggs at ALDI Howell 96 cents 6 dozen limit Aldi brick 70 cents limit 3
Several options for the Israeli govt
- Another Knesset member quits the coalition and helps the opposition to pass a bill dispersing the Knesset and taking Israel to a new election.
- Benny Gantz joins the opposition and has a majority coalition to become prime minister
- Netanyahu forms a coalition and becomes prime minister
- Bennet stays in power until 2023 without any ability to pass laws as a lame duck govt
So it seems friendly media to the township that make them look good and don't report about the corruption get rewarded with billboards tax abatements and exclusive interviews with the politicians.
ReplyDeleteWhat is going on with egg prices - why is Aldi Howell/Brick less than 1.00 while the local stores are hovering around 3.00? Walmart under 2$.. claiming there is a shortage? Are local producers taking advantage of Pesach? I'm waiting for all the Chicken that was being rationed for the last few months so there is enough Pesach to come out of storage? We need someone to investigate these price fixing shenanigans!
ReplyDeletePlanning board makes recommendations - - Township uses them when its convenient. We need to put an end to tax abatements period. how are these buildings adding to the town - by not providing enough parking for the occupants?? There are offices asking their workers to please park at Blue Claws - We give then abatements with parking!
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know any info on the 2 people that died in Lakewood in the last week FROM Covid?
ReplyDelete"FROM"? why the caps?
DeleteIt could be from the last 2 years they keep on revising numbers and change reasons of death
DeleteThe township cannot place traffic lights on Route 9, it is a state Rd. The resolution is to recommend it to the state.
